The house was large and had everything we needed. It could definitely use some TLC, but we had a nice time. I would definitely recommend fixing the door, it was extremely hard to lock because the floor under it was so rotted the door just wouldn’t line up anymore.

The house was clean, the deck was great, and the location was superb! The house is in need of updating and repairs: holes in walls, hairdryer with broken plug exposing live wires, towels threadbare and stained, stove burner pans need replaced, front shower head leaks at connection, cannot take showers in each bathroom at the same time, beach chairs rusted, mattresses very saggy and uncomfortable.

My friend and I just returned home from this place. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The host, Vacasa, was outstanding! It was clean and more than we expected as far as the closeness to the bay and gulf beach. We fished and then walked to the beach. The only thing that could be a negative is there was no dishwashing pods or liquid. No detergent for the washer. But we brought both. Our trip was excellent!

Worst experience ever it was 80 degrees in the house called 4 different times about it they came out one and said drain was stopped up vacuumed it out and said it was fine ended up leaving a day early family was over trying to sleep with it being so hot inside house won’t be back

Beautiful

Loved the views. The outdoor furniture is scarce now. With a picnic table and 2 chairs. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the shower heads kinda sucked. But other than that we loved it. Loved being on the water. It was quiet and relaxing.

Perfect place for what you’re paying

This house is your typical, old dauphin island house. It honestly wouldn’t take much to make it sooo much better. But the cheap price easy beach(bay) access definitely outweighs the negative things. Ultimately, we would for sure stay here again because it was sooo easy with the kids. The sunsets from the deck are BEAUTIFUL! Updating some aspects of the deck would be my top recommendation. I listed some things to note below! Inside: as previous reviews mentioned, there are very minimal cooking supplies/tools. There was one knife that was *almost* sharp enough to cut a lemon. Thankfully, we went into this knowing all of that, so we packed accordingly and brought pre-cooked meals that were easy to just stick in the oven. I can’t imagine trying to cook a meal in there. There were lots of reviews complaining about the mattresses, but we didn’t find them uncomfortable at all! There are no rugs anywhere, unfortunately, to help with the sound of the floor and help catch some of the leftover sand. The vacuum is from the stone ages. A simple little vacuum would’ve helped so much - I was not about to sweep the whole house the entire week. The washer machine runs, but it definitely does not clean. Our clothes were the same as when we put them in, just wet. Outside: There is no porch swing, the deck is very sketchy in places, and there is little to no seating on the deck. All around where the bbq pit is is pretty disgusting. The hose desperately needs to be replaced!

My wife and i wanted a nice quiet stay with a breath taking view and we got just that. Very quaint house, very minimalistic, but well spaced out. Private beach on the bay side and minutes feom everything.

Needs some updating

Overall the property was ok. The inside was very clean when we arrived. The following needs attention:-Mattresses on all 4 beds need to be updated.-The front door needs adjusting, sits crooked in frame enough that the dead bolt just sits in the hole. Would not take much to push the door open.-The stove needs to be leveled. Couple of burners did not fit properly in the slots.-The exhaust fan in the hall bathroom (by the 2 bedrooms) does not work at all.-The listing states there were tv’s in all three bedrooms. There is NO tv in the bedroom with the two twin beds.-There are labels on wall switches, which is great, but would be nice to be able to read them. -The pots and pans were decent for cooking. The location is nice, located in a very quiet neighborhood with a great deck and gas grill that was clean. The Gulf side beach is a very short walk up the block and across the street.

So great!

We loved the proximity to a private bayside beach, hardly any waves (great for small kids!), cleanliness and comfort of the house, and great price. The public beach was easy to walk to as well. My only complaints would be that the listing said there were spices stocked and there were none (and the only store on the island only carried giant containers of salt and pepper), and the WiFi was spotty (hard to connect to smart tv, but this wasn’t a big deal). Also, just fyi, standard baby gates won’t fit the width of the deck stairs, so plan accordingly with babies and toddlers. Other than those minor details, it was a great house and a great vacation!

Perfect location

Great view of the bay and a short walk to the gulf side. The place was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the mattresses. Like other reviews have said they are pretty bad. I’d at least recommend a mattress topper if nothing else.

Midway to West end beach or East end boat ramp/ferry. We like the private beach area facing the bay view. House is nicely furnished with the comfort of home. Will highly recommend to others.

Overall great house! Did have issues with the air and fridge but reached out to management and someone was sent but unfortunately things were not fixed before we left. There was also a glass coffee table in the living room which isn’t ideal for little kids but even with that I would gladly stay at this property again!
