    Shady Palms is a lovingly renovated beach house just 200m from the Beach.

    The fully equipped kitchen has top quality finishes and products using modern designer trends. The open plan living area stretches the length of the home with the impressive kitchen separating the lounge from the dining/family area that opens to a huge timber deck.

    The outdoor area features built in seating and lighting as well as a large gas BBQ and is ideal for alfresco dining.

    Of the three internal bedrooms two have built-ins with the master enjoying the benefits of an en-suite. On top of this, you'll find a separate guest studio that also has bathroom facilities.

    There are many features throughout the home including air-conditioning in the main house and an outdoor shower, great for rinsing off the sand after a day at the beach.

    The location of this beach house in one of the side streets that lead off Penguins Head Road and go straight to the beach. Position is fantastic with no roads to cross to reach the sand.

    Check-in and -out Times: During the busy months of December and January, the check-in time is 4 pm to facilitate peak back-to-back changeovers. Our standard check-in time is 3 pm and check-out time is 10 am. We offer a complimentary early check-in or late check-out time as a gesture of goodwill where booking and housekeeping schedules allow. Note that due to demand and housekeeping pressures, no early check-ins or late check-outs will be granted during the months of December and January. The safest way to secure an early check-in or later check-out is to book the property for an extra night. Contact us for a special rate for this extra night. All Sunday late check outs must be requested and approved prior to 5 pm on the Friday evening prior. All complimentary early check-ins or late check-outs must be confirmed in writing so that our housekeeping team are informed accordingly.

    Guest Registration: Guest registration is mandatory for all bookings and replaces the need for a cash bond for short term bookings (up to 20 nights). It is essential for fraud prevention, damage claims, safety, and emergency purposes. The process varies depending on the online travel agent used. Direct bookings require the booker to upload a copy of their driver’s licence and credit card through our encrypted online process.

    Additional Guests: The guest limits apply at all times during the booking. Any extra guests (this includes day visitors) above those that have been booked and paid for must be approved in writing prior to the stay. Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission. This is not possible at all properties.

    No Extras: This property is approved for accommodation only. No mattresses, tents, caravans or more cars than the property accommodates are allowed. Under no circumstances are the following activities permitted at any of our properties: motorbikes, dirt bikes, quad bikes, use of firearms or air rifles, fireworks.

    EV Charging: For safety reasons and to comply with insurance requirements, guests are prohibited from charging electric vehicles at any property that does not have a dedicated EV charging station. Charging electric vehicles without proper infrastructure poses a fire hazard, and in the unfortunate event of an incident, insurance cover may be compromised, and the guest held liable. If in doubt, ask our team for the closest EV charging station.

    Long Stay Discounts: Some of our properties are well suited to longer stays. For bookings of 30 nights or more, we may be able to offer a reduced rate compared to what’s advertised. Please feel free to get in touch with our team with your preferred dates, and we’ll be happy to look at the best available rate for you.

    For medium-term bookings (21-40 nights) and long-term bookings (41-90 nights), a non-negotiable cash security deposit is required. This deposit is refunded after the departure inspection, with any damage or loss deducted. The minimum cash deposit is $2000, with higher amounts for larger or more expensive properties, or at the owner’s/manager’s discretion.

    Peace of Mind: For your added security we will never request payments be made to an overseas bank account and your money is held by us and not disbursed until after your departure.

Wonderful accommodation

The property was clean, the location was great, the property had everything we needed to stay for just under a week. It was the perfect size for my family to enjoy the summer break.

Disappointing

House is well equipped and well located, close to shops and just a short walk to beach BUT it’s in desperate need of some TLC and a really thorough spring clean. When we arrived there was thick dust on the skirting boards, power points and corners of rooms as well as the furniture which all needed a good dust and wipe down. There were lots of spider webs both inside and out, the range hood was greasy, and the rug, couch and curtains in the living room are all stained and dirty looking, some of the curtains had mould and mildew on them. The air con system wasn’t working properly and wouldn’t blow warm air, only cold, and there was no stand alone heater in the home despite stating there was in the hand book. The managers were reasonably responsive when we reported it but it would have taken at least 48 hours to get a technician there so we ended up going to Nowra to buy our own as the temperatures were chilly in the morning and evening. So overall quite disappointing and a real shame as it really took some of the enjoyment out of our stay.

Lovely holiday home for our families

We really enjoyed our stay at Shady palms. The house had everything we required for our beachside holiday. A couple of things to mention is - The remote in the bedroom didn’t work. A fan in the bedroom without aircon would help for a comfortable sleep on the hot nights ! Otherwise this was a great house and we would love to return for a holiday in the future.

Family and Tourist Week

We were very impressed with how well stocked the cupboards were, how well equipped the kitchen was and how many cleaning products were available. It was an excellent venue for our family gathering with adult children. Our only minor issue was that the remote control for the TV in the bedroom did not seem to work, even after changing the batteries.

It’s a clean property in a convenient location regarding accessibility to the beach & town centre.

The front door wouldn’t stay shut unless deadlocked, which isn’t ideal with children as they’re either locked in or out. Some internal doors wouldn't shut either. The bath tub plug wouldn’t stay down either. But it was clean & in a convenient location.

clean and comfortable

was a nice place to stay it was clean and comfortable as well as affordable. The only downside was no shade over the out door area as it was raining most of our stay.

Modern home and close to beach

We stayed at Shady Palms for 2 weeks. We knew from the pictures of the house that there was no covering over the back decking.Because of this, we brought our own large umbrella/cabanas as shade protection and were glad we did as it got very hot. The studio room (King bed/ensuite) has an air conditioner. The bedrooms in the main house do not have aircon or fans and the rooms got very hot at night. We ended up buying fans for the bedrooms to help with the heat. I left one of the fans there. The aircon in the living area/kitchen worked well. The kitchen and facilities were well maintained and we appreciated the adequate crockery and cutlery. The bath was difficult to get into and out of for showering/bathing due to the fixed glass panel. We ended up all using the ensuite shower in the main bedroom which was fine.
