'We were prepared for no hot water, no AC, no cell service, but we were not prepared for the overall shady communication, vibes and charges. We booked this hotel to be close to Corcovado, and booked a tour with the hotel. When we asked for details, they said they said that the communication from Expedia was poor, and they only booked our snorkeling tour. We asked to cancel the snorkeling because the national park was our priority. She said they couldn't because they already bought the tickets....

'The Drake Bay Getaway was an unexpected delight! Views from the room were exquisite, as each villa is perched on a hillside with an ocean view. The manager was extremely helpful and spent time explaining about the surrounding area and animal life. We felt as if we were staying with family! Meals were beautifully prepared, offering a sampling of the local food. The location was great too, allowing for quiet relaxation, yet still convenient for activities.'

'House was exactly as advertised and had a great view. There was a berry tree in front of the house and every day two red Macaws would perch there followed by two toucans. The breakfast was great and you can walk down the stairs right to the beach. The only drawback was the hike up to the house, but everything else was perfect.'

'Really great staff who really know the area and cultivate the farm. They can give you information on ecology you won't find outside of guided tour groups in the park, and there's also yoga. The property is beautiful and it is easy to see birds. It is a pretty primitive property and so you should be expecting bug bites and no modern comforts. Bathing in rainwater is amazing, but it is also not warm. Also the ants really bite- I was itchy for a week afterward. So be careful. '
