'I tried to cancel a few hours after booking, but because I booked the same day, the employee told me I could not cancel. So, I checked in, while he listened to music on his earpods. As everyone said, the walls really are almost paper-thin. You can hear every single word of the television show that the person next to you is watching. So, you can bet that whoever is in the room over can also hear any conversation you might be having. I couldn't see the surrounding area well because I arrived late...

'This property is the perfect combination of southern elegance and modern charm. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and well appointed, Each staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and professional. There is a coffee shop , restaurant, and rooftop bar on the property. All were very enjoyable. I highLy recommend The Markham.'

'Got a pet friendly room that STUNK like a litter box. It was horrible! Additionally, we were in a non-smoking room but the pillows had clearly been in a smokers room prior. Hotel security was good and there was a great little seafood place across the street'

'New and clean. Beds were comfortable, ac worked good. Easy access to beltway 8. Also has a convenience store at the road entrance. Things I didn’t like were, no pool, no breakfast, and could have had better coffee at least.'

'Clearly a recent building or very well renovated given the paint smell when entering the room (wich was noticeable but gone very quickly when turning on the airconditioning). Very light and modern setting with friendly and helpful staff. Not directly to the beach so you’re located at a more quiet place. Yet the beach is less then a 5 minute walk where there’s a plethora of dining options to choose from along the coastline. Divided with cute little beach shops in between. Would stay again and...
