When I first chose my booking, it was between this and another place. I booked the other place initially, but felt like I was just missing out on something with split rock. So I canceled that one and booked split rock. I asked the lady if there was anything to make my stay special, id appreciate it. She said yes yes we will make your stay very special. There was nothing special about it. At first the details of the property were a little confusing. My 2 main requirements are breakfast and a pool. But I found out the breakfast is not included. But you can eat for a fee. For what I paid I expected at least the crappy free breakfast you get with hotels. That's exactly what they were serving, but for a fee. Not even a free cup of coffee at check in. The lay out of the hotel is weird and I had to drive around the building to my room. Walk a long hallway to an elevator, to go down to my room. The room was nice, you can tell they renovated a bit but everything outside of that felt dated. Like i know in the 80s this place was crowded with people but now not so much. The ceilings in the bathroom were gross, the floors in the hall were wonky. Then when it came to the water park, half the rides were off so why would we pay to enter when its half open. The lake seemed fun but again nothing was included for us so i would've had to pay for everything. All I had was a free game of mini golf. I expected more from it calling itself a resort. And the actual split rock was just that. A rock.

I was unhappy that the spa bathtub in master bathroom was inoperable and the hot tub was also not able to be used because once turned on the chemical smell was so bad it caused my daughters nose to bleed, i had to stand outside in the cold air to stop the burning in my nose and chest. Not safe

Overall was a good stay, but we did have a few hiccups. It doesn’t say on the listing or in any emails sent that you have to be 25yo+ to be on the booking. I booked the trip for family and last minute I had to get in contact with various agents because the host didn’t respond/give any warning and we hadn’t received our check in code. For the most part the listing was accurate but one of the arcade games didn’t turned on, the Wii didn’t work, and the dishwasher would turn on but shut off so we couldn’t use it. We tried using the fire place but we couldn’t figure it out. Cleanliness was pretty good inside and if you go during a chilly season, the hot tub is a +! We didn’t use the beach passes but if you’re looking for other lakes nearby, Beltzville State Park is beautiful and great for personal Jetskii’s or non-motor boat rentals.
