Honestly, I chose this hotel because the reviews were absolutely glowing—people made it sound like paradise. Now, I’m someone who stays at hotels three to four times a month for work—across South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida—so I know how to compare. For someone who rarely stays in hotels, Hyatt Place might feel amazing. But for me, it’s a solid, average hotel. I felt like I paid at least 40% just for the name. I’ve had nicer rooms at hotels for much less per night. The breakfast is pretty standard, even richer at some other places.Also, I booked as an Expedia VIP, and I didn’t receive any benefits—or even a mention of them. It was never brought up during my stay. So from that perspective, I felt a bit let down in terms of what was promised versus what was delivered.
So, in my opinion, it’s a solid 6 out of 10.
