'The room was clean and wonderful. The main breakfast choice, though hearty, is on the unhealthy side, though there is an option for oatmeal only. This is a problem since there is no protein with it; of course, you could order an egg à la carte. The restaurant is handy, but you have to work to find something that is actually good for you and tastes good, too.'

'Black Bear Lodge was such a nice surprise! The rooms and decor are tasteful and very comfortable, and the true test is the quality linens and towels and extra pillows without asking. The grounds show personal touches like flower beds, raised planters, terraced areas with multiple seating options, and best of all is the total peace and quiet. You are close to South Shore if that is your thing, and skiing at Heavenly in winter is right up the road—you can see Gun Barrel from your room. The staff...

'Did not know that the hotel was being renovated and we were put in the old part of the plaza hotel,'

'It was a nice clean hotel with a nice pool and hottub area!'

'My experience was good, the room was fairly clean there was some dusty areas along with some hair and debri in the bathroom. Staff was friendly. The breakfast buffet was a little disappointing. There was no scrambled eggs or milk. Those are basic breakfast items. The orange juice machine was out of order. The fruit seemed old (apples,oranges), the only fresh fruit was the cantaloupe. Overall our stay was good. Everything is new and modern.'
