2 BR Oceanfront Condo Perfect for Relaxing

"Janssen" is a 2-bedroom, 2-bath 2nd floor oceanfront condo in the William and Mary complex in Carolina Beach, perfect for a family getaway. With ocean views and a breezy deck, a relaxing vacation in a beautiful location is just waiting for you to enjoy.

The living room and kitchen are oceanfront, while both bedrooms are street side. The primary bedroom has a Queen bed, and the second bedroom is perfect for the kiddos with a set of bunkbeds plus one Twin bed. The Full sofa bed is located in the living room. There is even a porta-crib in the closet of the main bedroom, so you don't have to travel with one of those. Sit outside and get a dose of fresh air on the oceanfront deck, great for outdoor dining and sunbathing.

An outside shower is located at the rear of the building. This is a second floor unit.

"Janssen" is in the William & Mary complex located just seven blocks north of the Boardwalk area in downtown Carolina Beach. You are within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides and live music. Watch the fishermen come in with the catch of the day at the marina or dine out with the family. Make plans to visit Carolina Beach today!

Enjoy oceanfront views on the popular north end of Carolina Beach, NC at the William and Mary condo complex. Each William and Mary unit offers two bedrooms and is in close proximity to the restaurants, bars, shops, and Carolina Beach Boardwalk. This complex is conveniently located between the beach and the canal, where you will find calm waters and kayak access. Enjoy the complex’s private beach access and spend the day on the sand. The Carolina Beach Pier is only blocks to the north, where you can spend the afternoon fishing in the beautiful Atlantic Ocean! In the evening, head down to the Boardwalk for live music, fireworks, and fantastic dining.

Carolina Beach is located on the southern tip of North Carolina, on picturesque Pleasure Island. This family-friendly beach is perfect for surfing, fishing and collecting seashells.

Perfect beach getaway! We loved that the beach was just walking steps from the door and it was close to restaurants and the grocery store. The property was clean and as described. The only thing that was somewhat troublesome was the parking as we got parked in on the day we were leaving. Other than that, our family had a great stay!

A Good Week!

Overall, the property was pretty great. The view, location, size were all awesome. The beds were super comfortable. The balcony was the perfect spot to relax and have your coffee or listen to the ocean. The kitchen had everything we needed, and I cooked a majority of the trip. Being able to just go to back and forth to the beach when needed was so convenient. The parking situation wasn't my favorite. This units designated spot required me to parallel park around 2 other vehicles to get out every time. I would have parked in the designated lot across the street, but there is nowhere for you to put any of your beach gear when you return from the beach. So I needed to store our stuff in the trunk of my car every day. Unless you want to carry it all up the steps and through the unit. For most, this is no big deal, but being a single mom with 3 small children, it would have been a lot to lug all of our things up the steps, or across the street, with them in tow. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the unit itself was great.

Beach Trip

I loved it . Very nice people to rent from. Shower curtain fill and they was right there to fix it. Great ocean front views. Easy to get to the beach. Easy to get around town, very close to the boardwalk. Great food all around. As far as price it was well worth what it cost me for a week. We eat in a lot it was so nice to come from beach and make our food and eat. But it was nice to eat out too. Over all great place to go. The beach was nice and clean there.

Nice Stay

A colleague and I were in town for a work conference. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the view and relaxing on the deck with an ocean view. Parking was a bit tight under the home and in the back space, but we managed fine. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Family Vacation

We loved our stay, we spent every day at the beach, convenient walk to and from the beach. The home was clean, beautiful view of the ocean and the beach, just as described. The kitchen was pretty stocked, we had brought some extras thinking we might need them but ended up not using them! Very satisfied!

Great condo with plenty of room and beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay in this condo. It truly has everything you could need for a wonderful beach vacation. It could use a little updating, but this didn’t make our stay any less enjoyable. Has a great deck overlooking the ocean and a balcony overlooking the street and other houses.

Mini vacation rivals other vacations

The peace that we felt is indescribable. The rooms were larger than expected. The atmosphere was soothing to the soul. We already want to go back. And this is from folks who usually do not stay anywhere without a pool & elevator. Everything else made up for that. Looking to book again for another weekend next month if schedules permit.

Oceanfront loveliness

The view from the deck of this property is fantastic. We were on the second floor, so we were just above the dune— so nice. A bit of an issue checking in— the door code we were given didn’t work but the rental company responded quickly and fixed it over the phone. The only other issue was that, as we were checking out, a leak formed in the kitchen. I called the rental company and they said they were sending someone right out. Aside from those issues, the condo was clean and the furniture was comfortable. I’d suggest the owner consider a WiFi extender for the front of the house— a $40 investment that would make a big difference for the tv and device reception in the living room and deck.

Very nice place/location, but a few hiccups

Having never been to Carolina Beach, it is a hidden gem of a beach town and the beachfront location of this place is unbeatable. The apartment was clean and ad advertised, with a nice balcony overlooking the water and walking distance to good restaurants and the boardwalk. A few pain points: There was no hot water in the master bathroom, and the water coming from the guest bathroom smelled like sulfur for the entire 3 days. In addition, while the clean, packaged linens were appreciated, having to put on the fitted sheet and other bed linens ourselves was less than ideal. Lastly, in 2020 it's completely understandable that most rentals don't have cable, but it should be made clearer, or the TV's should be upgraded to be modern smart TV's. As out of towners, we struggled to stream playoff hockey on the TV in the living room which was frustrating. Also, the WiFi network that was listed in the welcome package was not available (not listed in available networks, despite massive amounts of technical troubleshooting). I called the 3rd party property management company as we were there for work, and unfortunately did not have the WiFi enabled. We were given the WiFi network next door/upstairs, but it was not stable nor reliable, which made working remotely difficult. Lastly, the doorcode given to us in our welcome package was wrong, I believe due to as missing # sign not being written in the package. It was reset fairly quickly, but if the # sign is required, it's very frustrating that this was omitted in the welcome package, creating a delay and overhead while trying to get into the house. Overall the house was great and the location was great, but I want to point out the things that create work/frustration/overhead for renters so that VRBO can improve and deliver an even better customer experience next time.

A few bumps, but nice.

I will start by saying that I really enjoyed my stay, and would recommend this unit to anyone looking for quality beachfront lodging at a good price. The few small complaints that I have are as follows: The check in process required everyone to wait until 4:00, and then go to a communal Dropbox to get their envelope. If this was set up as a response to Covid, it didn’t make much sense, as it requires guests to congregate on a small porch. When we arrived, I began removing comforters in order to put sheets on the bed. The master comforter had dried food on it in multiple places (possible a bean dip?). Luckily, there was an additional comforter in the closet, but it made me feel nervous about the cleanliness of other fabric surfaces (cushions/bath mats/couches). The last item was the water. There was no hot water in either shower on the first night. The repairman was very nice, and showed up within an hour. We realized the next day that the hallway shower still didn’t have hot water, but rather than wasting our vacation waiting on repairmen, we decided to just use the master bath exclusively. I will say that I found the rest of the condo to be very clean, and well stocked with all the basics. I thought it was a nice touch to have a variety of movies and books for visitors to enjoy. The unit was quiet, and peaceful. The view was wonderful, and it was close to a lot of stores, restaurants, and other conveniences.

Cute and clean

This 2nd floor condo was just as described. It was clean. The kitchen is small but has everything you need to make a nice meal “at home”. You have to go by the office to check in but they have a keypad entry. The front deck is small, the back deck rails are rotting off. One of the rails fell out allowing enough space for 2 of our 3 kids to fall through. There is no closet on the ground level for sandy toy/chair storage. The parking is weird, the folks in the back can get blocked in if the people in the front don’t squeeze in tight against the building. Linens were provided. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of cable channels for the kids on rainy days. The bunk beds were fun for the kids. The beach access stairs were steep but very close to the building. This condo is within walking distance to the boardwalk & restaurants/shops. Overall a cute space but lacking a few nice details.
