The Quetil Trail Guesthouse is located on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, walking distance to Hedman Vineyards (0.5 mi) and Alto Vineyards (0.7 mi), and only 15 minutes from Giant City State Park. Two Bedrooms (Queen beds in each) and a fold out queen couch in the living room to sleep 6.

Sit on the patio and enjoy the afternoon sun, or watch the River to River hikers walk by. Walk to Grammer's market for basic grocery supplies or stroll over to the Rootbeer Saloon for a cool afternoon treat.

The property is conveniently located close to area wineries, Giant City State Park, and other attractions and beauty unique to Southern Illinois. Nearby towns include Cobden, Goreville, Anna, Jonesboro, Alto Pass, Makanda, Dongola, Carbondale, Marion, Vienna, Carterville, Herrin, and Murphysboro.

The host was very accommodating, fit us in last minute which gave us more time to see the sites. The beds were so comfy and the bathroom was a dream for a rental. Lots of room to spread out. The proximity to the Wine trail was a big plus after hiking all day we could visit close to our stay!

Vrbo is nice to stay briefly.Located on main intersection so traffic is all around.The patio was right out close to road so definitely no privacy while grilling or enjoying a bottle of wine.Could have used an umbrella as well.Host was available and entry was easy.Worth mentioning the only bathroom is up 19 stairs.Overall home was clean and nicely decorated

We had the most incredible stay at the Red House on the Alto Pass Wine Trail for Thanksgiving! From the moment we arrived, check-in was seamless, and the host was absolutely amazing—so kind, responsive, and available for anything we needed.The house itself was charming and cozy, with everything we could have asked for. And the town? Quaint, picturesque, and brimming with charm,it felt like stepping into a storybook!This stay made our holiday extra special, and we can’t wait to come back again. The inside of the property is nice mostly. Light switches are a bit confusing and some seemed to do nothing. A lot of light bulbs were missing. There is no outdoor area worth using. The patio chairs have huge holes in them and the grill did not work.

Perfect in every way!

This was exactly what we needed for our trip!! My partner and I are rock climbers, we visit this area often to climb at the Holy Boulders in Pomona, and we came up at this time to see the eclipse. Usually we camp or stay up in Carbondale, but we are already looking at coming back here for our next trip! Alto Pass is so cute and cozy, and it was so nice to come back here and recharge after long days of climbing and hiking in the woods. Steve is an awesome host, and his spot is fully equipped with supplies. The kitchen is fantastic!! Loved the porch right outside to enjoy the nice spring weather. We’ve already told many of our friends about this place and raved about how great it is. We didn’t check out any of the wineries, but everything is in such close proximity and looks so great that I can see why people visit for that. HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!!

Quiet Comfort

My husband and I, along with his sister and brother in law. We had a great time. The house was slightly smaller than I envisioned, but still perfect for our weekend away. The town was peaceful and pretty. Very near some really nice overlook scenery. The Havisham Burbon Bar was literally across the street and down block. Don't miss this place, even if you don't think you like burbon. The best feature of the house is for sure the shower. Huge, walk in shower with a rain shower head and second detachable shower head as well. And...and...HOT WATER. As a parent of many children I NEVER get any hot showers. This was bliss. Would absolutely stay here again.
