The area offers fell walking, sailing and riding at Coniston, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and an exhilarating drive over Hardknott Pass to visit the Roman Fort and much more. Families will enjoy the sand and shingle beach at Silecroft, 8 miles. Fishing is available within 5 miles. A local pub serving excellent food 3 miles up the valley.
