I recognize we’ve gone at the busiest time of the year and that stress levels for everyone is likely at an all-time high. We live in the area and wanted a break from our normal day to day and booked this accommodation, as we’ve stayed here many times before. The room, amenities, and surrounding village area was as expected; clean and beautiful. Thr children enjoyed every moment of it.
Upon arrival, however, things unraveled. After paying for parking and being informed wheee to park, the parking key did not work. Upon inquiring at the front desk, was informed that we didn’t pay for parking and it was sold out. We were then instructed elsewhere to park. Surely, there could have been massively better communication surrounding this but accidents happen.
On checkout day, we figured to allow the children to swim the hour leading up checking out (11:00 AM). I arrive back to the room at 10:40 to double check last belongs to find room keeping already thrown out our foods and beverages and began flipping the room. One of the child’s early Christmas gifts was discarded and both housekeeping and myself where shocked to be in this situation.
I communicated all of this to the front desk only to brushed off and told my receipt would be in my email. I wasn’t being inconsiderate, rude, or demanding - I simply was informing them of the parking situation and housekeeping throwing away our perishable goods and one Christmas present.
Would we come back? We simply don’t know anymore.
