Blue River Studio Hideaway

Welcome to our luxurious finely crafted studio. Only the best here! Either drive 5 minutes to Breckenridge or use the ski shuttle located 100 feet away. This magnificent location in the trees allows for a car-free vacation. We have a fully stocked kitchen, comfy king bed, jaw-dropping AV system, washer and drier, ski gear storage, and a furnished patio with great views. Open and relaxing interior decorating is complemented by many smart-home features. Furry friends welcome.

An authentic old hunting cabin has been given an extreme renovation with top tier amenities and trims. Easy to use home automation controls lights and blinds. High end trims such as Rocky Mountain Hardware, Toto, Hunter Douglas, Brizo, etc. are all arrayed throughout. This includes fine woodworking from the local wood artists at Everlasting Earth, applying their hand crafted touches to doorway trim, kitchen shelving, and more. If you are into woodworking you’ll see extensive figure and movement. Color-alterable lighting abounds yet is not obtrusive or overbearing. Certain places such as the entryway and bathroom automatically turn on and off.

You will have a half-acre to yourself, in a private cabin studio engulfed in trees. Compare to a local high end hotel suite and you’ll find no one above or below you making noise, some land around the house to provide a sense of space, peace and calm, and more finely crafted items than even the best resort hotels in Breck or Vail. This place can be used by anyone looking for serenity, for meditative retreats, or by hard-charging downhill mountain bikers or powder hounds. The back porch boasts mountain views, a smokeless fire pit, and teak reclining loungers.

We live just over the pass so while we won’t be there in person, we’re nearby in case of emergencies

We’re in Blue River, a few minutes drive from Breck. Quite, peaceful and private. Just off of HW 9 with plenty of trees for privacy

Easy access to Breckinridge with the free shuttle (great if you want to avoid the hassle of ski parking!). There is parking on site for at least 3 cars, so if you’re having a friend over for the evening, there’s no worries about how to accommodate them

This unit has been newly renovated (2023) with a human-healthy focus. Lights turn from bright white to a warm halogen glow as they are dimmed, reducing blue light at night, and helping you fall asleep. Colored accent lights and interior design were chosen to create a soothing environment. We include a humidifier, and an oxygen concentrator can be rented. An ice melt system under the patio tile will get you easily from your car to the front door. Hand-made soap and lotion is provided, made from local sheep’s milk and tastefully scented!

~ Internet ~
Low-latency, high speed internet suitable for remote work, video conferencing, 4K streaming, or gaming. Download speed is around half a Gigibit per second. (See photo)

~ AV System ~
A large modern TV optimized for presenting art is accompanied by a movie theater quality sound reproduction. Seriously. Be kind to the neighbors. The sound system will connect via Bluetooth to your personal device for grooving to some tunes, or critical listening to classical symphonies, or anything in between. It is DSP corrected for the studio space, and high mounting of the speakers gives a true flat frequency response.

~ Kitchen ~
We offer a fully stocked kitchen including All-Clad pots and pans, an induction stovetop, full-size oven, seasonings, cooking oil and all the kitchen implements you will need. We have a Nespresso espresso and coffee maker with pods, and and array of Mighty Leaf teas. If you`re fishing nearby, use the large oven pan to roast your catch.

~ Water ~
We have some of the best well water in the country (there are several large Rocky Mountain spring water bottling facilities around here.) Then, we added a 4-stage filter for drinking water. If you are sensitive to chlorine or chloramines, this is the water for you.

~ Neighborhood Dog ~
The neighbor has a dog who often strolls by to say hello. Roxy is very friendly. You may see her, but are
unlikely to hear her, as she hardly ever barks.

~ Neighborhood Quite Times ~
Blue River has a local low light/quiet time regulation from 10pm to 7am. Please limit the use of external lights during that time. To help meet the city’s requirement we have a noise monitoring system in place to detect noise levels (but it doesn’t record anything beyond the decibels to maintain your privacy)
