More than 20 years ago, we began, little by little, to recover some of its old houses, seeking to preserve the stone, the wood, the memories and the authenticity of a mountain village. Casa dos Figos is part of that story. Here we wake up surrounded by mountains and nature, we listen to the birds and, at the end of the day, we witness magnificent sunsets. Silence still lingers, and the nights are once again truly nights. In the center of the village lies the small chapel of Palas, a testament to the life that existed here for generations. It only opens on special occasions, including the annual village celebration, when former inhabitants and families return and Palas is once again filled with people and memories. Casa dos Figos is a comfortable and welcoming rural house, designed for families, couples, or friends seeking rest and a few days away from the rhythm of the cities. It has a swimming pool, outdoor spaces, mountain views, and secluded spots where you simply want to sit, read, chat, or do absolutely nothing. Pets are welcome. A few kilometers away is the Rabaçal River, with small river areas and paths where you can discover a still very well-preserved landscape. Palas is also an excellent starting point to explore the northeast of Trás-os-Montes, its villages, traditions and gastronomy. And gastronomy is part of the experience. I am a trained cook and deeply connected to the cuisine of Trás-os-Montes. I like to work with local products, old flavors and also give them a contemporary interpretation. Subject to availability and advance booking, gastronomic experiences and meals prepared in Palas may be available. Don't expect to find a resort here. Palas is precisely the opposite.
