The property lacks any handicap accessibility. The elevator is like a matchbox which could never fit any assistance device (maybe a cane). The rooms are also neither accessible or for families. I requested information about air conditioning because of a medical disability that’s neither hot/cold tolerate. Never heard anything from the site. The room was horribly hot and the fan didn’t help. Resulted me getting sick the first day. I’m fortunate it didn’t result in a trip to the hospital. The site is void of any staff. When they have hours, it’s hit and miss. One couple who asked for my help, could not get their key. Is there anyone to help? No. You’re stuck waiting for someone to show up in 15 minutes (so they claim). That would have been a train wreck if they showed up at 23:00. So, people are generally loud during the night. It was midnight when several people showed up laughing and whistling through the halls. Your kids will be awake by the noise in the courtyard. The breakfast is a waste of €17. Go to a breakfast place. They made it sound like they have a restaurant connected, that’s false. There are restaurants nearby. They will hide fees in everything. This place was simply not worth its weight next to better establishments. Those images of their rooms are false advertising. They’re not that big. It’s a really tight space. It’s fine, but be upfront with people online.

Dear Tara,don't know what I can say for such unsatisfied comment about your stay and the Apartmenthotel Kaiser Karl. Even that effort you put in this comment made us feel unhappy because of cause you got the strong emotion about around your trip. We were 24 hours reachable and you should read before booking that there is no reception from 3 PM (key code access) We send the arrival information 3 days before. Our single rooms are to the north and the windows a huge so you can get fresh air (the night the temperature were in this period around 14-16. That is not hot at all. The breakfast isn't a waste and our photos are absolut exactly like it is. By the way our breakfast is high recommend by reviews all over the internet. One problem we got because 11 years ago another hotel (Kaiser Karl Hotel) was placed here. We are the Apartmenthotel Kaiser Karl. It was old fashion from the 80th. We found the hotel.com got sometimes a wrong switch and displays all the old photos and even more the old telephone number and E-Mail address.We reached out many times and never got an answer by the owner of that booking portals. If it is possible for you to send us a screen shot of that booking portal and the description of the hotel we would be thankful. I travel often in Germany for my research, and have stayed in every type of lodging from small bed and breakfasts to huge corporate chains. Apartment Kaiser Karl in Bonn is hands-down the nicest experience I have ever had in more than a decade of frequent business travel to Germany. Everything that was needed was on hand or close by, and nothing extraneous. Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms that worked wonderfully with the existing architecture and character of this historic part of the city. Highly recommended. The staff was delightful and extremely knowledgable about the area. Highly recommend.

Gutes Hotel, auch für längere Aufenthalte
Ein schönes Appartement an einer normal befahrenen Straße. Leider keine Klimaanlage, aber ansonsten gute Ausstattung, die auch in puncto Wertigkeit und Sauberkeit passt. Zusätzlich ist eine leckere Burgerbude direkt nebenan ;) Das Frühstück habe ich nicht probiert.

Hotel not as expected
The reason I chose this aparthotel was that under the heading "hotel amenities" it stated 3 restaurants, one with bar. As having a week by myself in Bonn it suited me to have in house bar, etc. On checkin I found out there are no inhouse bar/restaurants. The 3 restaurants are closeby establishments. This should be clearly stated on the web site. The attic apartment didn't suit me but the only other apartment offered on a lower floor was very small and not acceptable. I booked a larger apartment as wanted space. The good points are:-very clean, apartment in good condition and everything worked, nice garden, good laundry facilities and staff friendly. While it didn't suit me, it did the job and could well suit others.

Bland review as unable to comment on most aspects. Unfortunately when I arrived no room had been booked for me at the Kaiser Karl in spite of my reservation confirmation from Expedia and the hotel was full. The staff member on reception was fabulous and sorted me an alternative hotel and covered the costs of a taxi to get me there. Thankfully the hotels were also able to sort out a transfer of funds which I had already paid for Kaiser Karl. No idea if this situation was the fault of Expedia or the hotel but it added significant stress to the start of my stay.
