The cottage was as described, if I’m being critical, the cottage felt a little tired and would have been nice if there was some heat on in the cottage on arrival or at least some kindling to light the fire. The previous travellers had left some logs and firelighters which were useful.'

'This was end of Day one on the Coast to Cost bike ride. Staff great, no breakfast included in rate, bike was brought upstairs into room. Great location - it’s a popular working pub with parking so busy until late evening at the weekends. Solid value for money, great room size, could do with some investment to update rooms.'

Our room was a good size but very tired decor, dust/cobwebs hanging from ceiling, bathroom very old fashioned and in serious need of modernisation. The bedroom (Room 9) overlooked a noisy courtyard and there was music playing until at least 11pm. Breakfast was very good. The hotel also sent an unnecessarily high number of messages via Expedia in the run up to our stay which was more annoying than helpful, particularly as they didn’t...

'Een zeer charmant hotel in typische UK-stijl. Alles was top! Ik kan dit hotel zeker aanbevelen. Ook een ideaal hotel voor mensen die hun hond graag mee op vakantie nemen. En een ideale plaats als vertrekpunt voor tal van wandelingen. Enige minpuntje is dat er geen airco op de kamer is. Maar dat is in de meeste manors niet te vinden. 😉 Dus enkel bij zeer tropische temperaturen zou ik een andere locatie zoeken. '

'This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Amthweight Hall, the accommodation was excellent, as was the staff, they couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast was 10 out of 10, and again, very helpful, as my wife wanted her coffee a paticular temperature, and strength, they bent over backwards to make her perfect cup of coffee !! The grounds and the building, are kept immaculate. The Spa facilities, again 10 out of 10, gym, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, swimming pool and outside hot pool, plenty...
