8.6 van 10, Voortreffelijk, (58 beoordelingen)
'The property was absolutely fine as a base. Easily walkable to the shops and the seafront. The parking is not great around the area. There is pay and display parking nearby but on-street parking was limited. The host replied quickly to any messages I sent and was helpful. The only negative I have is that the resident upstairs, above the property, was quite noisy when moving around in the night time.'

'A little gem nestled in the countryside with glorious views. Lucy’s apartment was spotlessly clean and tidy, comfortable and very well equipped. Lucy is an absolute hoot- very welcoming and full of suggestions of things to see or do. Perfect for dogs too, with a lovely enclosed garden and lots of walks from the location detailed in the information folder. Lots of lovely pubs nearby too including a local just across the way. We would definitely come back.'

'We book the Majestic for one night as they had over 8+ on Expedia. Well, we arrived at reception. All went well until we were told the lift is out of action and being repaired. Which we later found out is the same story they have been telling guests for months. The very small room was embarrassing. A hole in the wall, electric socket not working, disgusting unwashed curtains, peeling paint everywhere, cracked sink, mould all over the shower head, broken wardrobe. The only plus was the bed...

'Check in was easy and location was good, thise are the only positives. The property is extremely dated and dirty. The furnishings in communal areas were torn, threadbare, stained, dirty and smelly. The carpets were dirty, covered in dog and human hair. There was mould above the shower and dirt and mould under the sink. The areas around the toilets were soiled with rusted old urine splashes. There was mould on one of the bedroom walls. The kitchen cupboard fascias were peeling and the handles all...

'We stayed for 2 nights at Stavri’s place. I’m giving it a 2-star review due to two main issues: lack of communication and cleanliness.Communication: I had to message twice over 2 days to receive the check-in information, and the replies were slow in appearing. The first one only gave the address (which was wrong!), and I had to message a third time to enquire about how to actually access the property. It would have been easy to let us know that that information would only be sent after the...

'The property appeared fine at first glance but once I'd spent a little time there it became clear it was not properly clean. The sofa had something crusted to it. The wall above the bed had clearly visible dust balls sticking to it across the whole length (difficult to see in the photos, but obvious in person). The bedding had a funny smell in some places but not others. The floor was gritty so my feet were soon unclean again after a shower. All of this was particularly disappointing as I had...

The Relais Cooden Beach

The Relais Cooden Beach

8/10 Goed
"It is a well-located and welcoming hotel, right by the sea. We heard from other guests that the hotel has recently been renovated. This seems to apply mainly to its appearance, as there are no new modern facilities. For exmample, we were initially a little surprised that there was no air conditioning in our room. That said, the staff and the location still made it a memorable experience. Here are a few useful things to know: * You can park for free behind the hotel, although it can get quite busy. There are also two free Porsche charging spaces. * At breakfast, you can help yourself to the continental options, such as croissants and toast, while everything else needs to be ordered at the table. Try to do this as soon as you are shown to your table, as breakfast can get very busy and you may otherwise have to wait quite a while for your tea or coffee and your ordered food. The food is very good and the staff work very hard and are friendly. * Our room did not have air conditioning or a fridge, so keep this in mind if you are visiting during the summer. * You are given a room key with a large key fob, which can be a little impractical to carry around. * The train station is around the corner and thankfully you can hardly hear the trains * I was unable to take a warm shower in the late evening. It is possible that the tap thermostat was faulty or that the boiler had run out of hot water. I would recommend checking this when you arrive. Still definitely worth a stay!"
