Composed of five small villas that are rented together, Casale Vecchio Fienile is ideal for larger groups of extended family or friends who want to share a Tuscan holiday – and their own private pool – while retaining elements of independence. A total of eight bedrooms can accommodate 16 to 20 people, and, with four of the five units completely on one level, any members of the party with mobility issues can rest easy.

The Tuscan hilltown of San Gimignano is visible from the grounds of Casale Vecchio Fienile, which sits on the gentle lower slopes of Chianti’s hills, near the hamlet of Sant’Appiano. With Siena and Florence short drives away and Pisa a little further, you can indulge a love of grand medieval and Renaissance Italy to your heart’s content. Although you may be just as happy pottering in charming small towns such as nearby Barberino Val D’Elsa. Equally, this unpretentious and easy property majors on the simple pleasures of spending time together. Young and old will find much to appreciate, whether that’s the large pool and sundeck, which, raised above the property, catch the sun throughout the day, or the chance for a quiet read on the villas’ private terraces.



Few properties offer the flexibility of Casale Vecchio Fienile: gather those you love around you, while also ensuring that party members can do their own thing when they want a bit of downtime or fancy staying back at base while others go off exploring. Each self-contained unit has its own entrance, furnished terrace and room indoors for dining, while the largest (Villa 5) has a bigger terrace and an indoor space where the whole group can eat together. There is a laundry room with 2 washing machines and a tumble-drier. These are open and free to use for all apartments.
