We stayed here for several nights and truly couldnât have asked for a better experience. The house itself is pristineâeverything was spotless when we arrived, and all of the furnishings and supplies are excellent quality. You can tell the owners put a lot of care into making this a comfortable, welcoming place. The lake is absolutely stunningâeasily one of the most scenic spots Iâve ever visited. It was so quiet and peaceful that it felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. We spent our days on the glassy water and fishing right from the dock. Evenings were perfect for grilling and sitting around the fire pit under the stars. If youâre looking for a place to completely relax and soak up nature, this is it. Beautiful views, top-notch amenities, and total tranquilityâhighly recommended.
We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Everything was super clean, and we had everything we needed for an easy, comfortable, and fun stay. The location on Tunk Lake is gorgeous and very private, while also being close to Acadia, Schoodic Point, etc. Canât wait to come back!
This cabin hit everything that we wanted! Quiet, secluded, private, and waterfront. It was definitely clean and well kept. Being able to enjoy family time outside and listen to nature under the stars was perfect! If we ever come back to Maine, which Iâm sure we will, this will be the cabin that we choose to stay at!
Wonderful house and property! The house was clean and comfortable. Nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. The drive over to Acadia and Schoodic wasn't hard and didn't feel long. We enjoyed several days in the Acadia area and several days just relaxing at the house! The lake was beautiful and incredibly peaceful! The skies were dark and we had amazing views of the stars and even captured the northern lights one evening. Shasta was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The property is right on the water. Swimming, kayaking and trails galore. We came to celebrate fall and the foliage was beautiful. There were plenty of small towns nearby for shopping and souvenir hunting. On the last day, we went whale watching. The cabin is beautiful and very well maintained. The grounds pristine.
This was our first trip to Acadia and we wanted a place that was quiet and secluded. The lake beautiful and great to swim in. The home had everything we needed
Our family was long overdue for a truly relaxing vacation and this place did not disappoint!! Some of my family likes to truly do nothing on vacation - so sitting on the back porch just taking in the peacefulness of the lake was ideal. Others enjoy being active, so being able to drop the kayaks in the lake and explore was wonderful. My younger kids really enjoyed hanging out on the dock and catching fish in a net. We rented this place to spend time in Acadia National Park, but this house and lake were so awesome we only spent a day in Acadia. There are plenty of things to do within an hour drive, but we were so content at this lake house, it didn't matter. My only regret was not renting it for longer - I was absolutely not ready to go when it was time!
We enjoyed this stay more than we expected and we had high expectations going into this. Thereâs something about nature and how it brings a family closer together. Thank you for tucking this little gem away for safe keeping. It is our hopes to return again next year. Thanks for everything!!!
This is the best property we have stayed at. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, that is incredibly clean, is full of amenities for the lake and đŻ accurateâŠthis is your place. Shasta was an amazing and thorough communicator every step of the way - even after we arrived just to reach out and make sure everything was okay. The photos are an exact match for where you will be staying and Iâve stayed at a lot
âcleanâ places but her property truly is. The lake was so much fun and the kids (20, 19, 14 and 12) all had fun. We felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves. It was easy to get to Bar Harbor (fun but crowded) and we actually preferred Schoodic, Corea and the smaller towns around us. I canât say enough good things. So if youâre thinking about it - do it. You wonât be disappointed!
Our recent stay was an exceptional experience. My husband and I live in a hectic area just outside of New York City, and we were in desperate need of a peaceful escape from the daily hustle and bustle. This cabin provided us with the serenity we craved, and more.
First and foremost, the view and the grounds surrounding the cabin were breathtaking. We couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting to unwind. The natural beauty of the area, combined with the cozy cabin, created a perfect retreat.
The cabin itself was well-equipped with everything we could possibly need. It was meticulously clean and well-maintained, making us feel right at home. We truly appreciated the attention to detail in ensuring that the cabin was in top-notch condition for our stay.
Shasta was incredibly responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Her assistance made our stay even more enjoyable, and we felt well taken care of throughout our time at the cabin.
One highlight of our stay was how it affected our two dogs. Typically, they are quite active and prone to barking at various noises. However, in this tranquil environment, they seemed to find their own peace. It was almost like a vacation for them as well, as they didn't have much to bark about, which is quite rare for our furry friends.
In summary, this was was exactly what we needed. The serenity, the well-appointed cabin, the stunning views, and the exceptional grounds all combined to create a truly memorable getaway.
The Lincoln Cabin is the perfect place to retreat to when you are looking for peace and the beauty of nature. The lake welcomed us each morning for long swims and the sound of loons was the only thing we heard. Itâs is a gem of a hideaway and a perfect place to recharge and spend time with family. The cabin has all the amenities you could want and we canât wait to return another summer. We loved using the kayak and canoe and ending the day gathering around the fire pit. Thank you to our gracious host!
Everything about our stay was first class. The cabin was exceptionally clean, stylishly furnished, and super equipped with everything needed to relax and enjoy yourself at a lake, including kayaks, floating docks, fire pit, plus all the essentials (bedroom, kitchen and bathroom provisions, etc). The lake is a gem - big, scenic, idyllic, private, safe, with no motorboats allowed. It was the nicest lake cabin we've ever rented, perfect for a family getaway.
Location-wise, the property is 10-15 minutes off the beaten path, similarly to everything in that area of Maine. This was an attraction for us. The property is 35-45 minutes away from Acadia National Park, depending on which side you choose to visit (the Schoodic Penisula side is closer and less crowded than the Bar Harbor side, so we went there twice). It was no big deal to drive to the Park, and along the way there are 5-10 lobster shacks for lunch or dinner. We flew in/out of Bangor, which was only an hour and 15 minutes away. Easy.
Host communication - Shasta was the best ever. Got in touch as soon as I made the booking, send an overview of the property (which was entirely accurate), plus a list of cool things in the area. She checked in before we arrived and when we got there, and was very pleasant and communicative the whole time. The best VRBO experience yet.
I'd give the property 10 stars if I could. Everything about it was perfect (and I am typically critical!). High recommend it to anyone.
Lovely cabin, well maintained. Close enough for day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia but secluded enough for quiet lake days/nights. Owner gives you all the info you need for an enjoyable stay.
Despite the rain and chilly weather we made our trip enjoyable. Shasta is a great host and the cabin is lovely. Directions were great and everything we did was within 30-90 minutes away. Take your rain gear, hat and gloves just in case in early June.
We look forward to doing again with better weather!

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful property. The location was perfect to enjoy sunrises by the lake and end the day with a cosy fire. Shasta was super responsive and ensured we had an easy check in and comfortable stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation at Lincoln Cabin. Shasta is a great host, and was very attentive to any questions or concerns we had. The cabin was extremely clean, which is number one in my book. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow for many lake activities, and we spent most of our time visiting various parts of Acadia National Park. Most of these activities took an hour or more of driving which was just about the only downside of staying in Sullivan. I highly recommend Lincoln Cabin for your next vacation!
