This converted church has the most unique setup of any rental we've stayed in, complete with high ceilings, 2 spiral staircases to reach ½ of the rental area including a huge game room with a pool table and other fun activities, as well as a hidden loft with an area that sleeps 3 people. It's antique furnishing are really interesting. The host, William, is responsive,The house is heated with individual electric heating units in each space including the bathrooms, as well as, a pellet stove in the first sitting area. All in all, we enjoyed our 2 night stay. The game-room loft area was really fun, as was the sauna. We recommend this unique home. Guests booking need to be mindful that their family members can traverse the spiral steps to be able to get complete use of the remarkable space.

A Special Place

This "Home" is quite unique, indoor hot tub which the kids loved, as well as the game room upstairs which all enjoyed. A well stocked kitchen and ample bedding for 10 made our weekend Family Reunion stay fantastic. We will look forward to renting again for the next one. Communication from the owner was great!

We were looking for a change of scenery for a family holiday getaway and the McBride house definitely helped us achieve that. Our host was very accommodating and extremely responsive, and we had a fantastic weekend!

If you like historic buildings, this is a great place. Fascinating layout and property is full of history. Game room is a great twist and Bill is a wonderful host. We stayed for a wedding at nearby Spillian venue and it worked great

Great stay in an interesting home

William was an excellent host there to help out in anyway and ensuring we had everything we need. The home is such an interesting place and has is much to do in the game room and to see in all of the antiques spread through out the house. The kids especially enjoyed the hot tub and game room. Amazing to stay in an old church from the 1800s we had so much fun!

Wonderful and unique!

We had a lovely time. The location to several very good restaurants and to skiing as perfect. The game room and hot tub kept the kids busy for hours and off of their electronics. Bill is a great host, we highly recommen, and plan to return!!

Good Place

We enjoyed our 11 day stay here. This is a clean, comfortable, quiet and unusual home. There’s a great back porch and open dining room. Big kitchen. Wi-fi is excellent, though Verizon service was weak. Good landlord.

Enjoyable stay in Arkville

Very cool building in a quaint town. Host was awesome and helpful with great "things to do" suggestions and accomodating. Amazing rental for a young family/group. Spiral stairs a challenge for seniors and a broad shouldered guy. Neat if you want the place to tell a story!

Birthday ski weekend

Our multi- generational family had a wonderful time at the Heavenly Getaway! It was quirky and full of curiosities and lots of entertainment- pool table, football, air hockey, and a large movie projector! And a hot tub! Large dining room to accommodate all of us for breakfast or dinner! And our host was very communicative and checked in with us each day! A good time was had by all!

Family skiing trip

This house was perfect for our family getaway! It had all the accommodations we were looking for and only 5 minutes from the mountain. Pictures do not do it justice! The interior design blew us away with all of the antique decor. The kids had a blast in the game room and movie theater. The host Bill was so accommodating and helpful he made our stay 10 times better!

Great find and super family friendly

My family of 8 stayed at this location. Everything about it was easy. The accommodations were great and everything was nicely appointed. Bill, who is the owner, is a great guy and made sure everything was ready for our arrival, including a warm and toasty home. We stayed to ski Belleayre and it’s couldn’t have been better with a less than 10 minute ride. Highly recommend if your are staying with a large group.

Great for family with Teenagers

Very farm/ old fashion decoration which we loved. House is just great for Families that have teenagers. A lot of entertainment in the house and around the neighborhood. Close to Mountain and shops. Kinda upset with the heating but we didn’t mind wearing some extra clothing. Very good communication with the Landlord in every aspect. Will come back and stay again!!

Very unique and fun

We went with two families for a fun ski weekend. It was a very unique old church property and the game room was huge and entertaining for all. It's the kind of place that's great for a group that is willing to pile into various spaces, loves antiques and unique themed decorations, and is easy going about small things like uneven heating. The owners support and responsiveness was absolutely fantastic.

Great Time!

Had a great time at this house. House is filled with a myriad of things to keep kids and adults entertained. House is close to skiing and hiking. We were able to have an air hockey and pool tournament at night. Great big screen for the football game. We were able to walk to the Union Grove Distillery and a small grocery store. Plenty of room for big groups.

Successful weekend!

This quirky house very much served its purpose as a place to stay and have fun before and after a Catskills soccer tournament. Williams was very responsive, kind and helpful. Only downside is the towns Fire Bell sounding in the middle of the night - gave us quite a scare as we didn’t know to expect it. But the property and owner themselves were great 😍
