SALACIA, amazing 7-bedr. villa, majestic views and near the beach!
This property is truly one of a kind in the area of Apokoronas on western Crete.
Located between the seaside resort of Almyrida, and the traditional village of Plaka, the villa is situated right above the sea at the end of a small country road. There is complete privacy on this estate of 8000 m2 land, and the views are simply incredible. The area is peaceful and quiet, and the property is so near the sea that you can hear it.
The villa includes 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms (5 of which are en-suite), a guest WC, a large living room and dining room, a spacious kitchen, many balconies and terraces, a gym, a hot tub, and a private infinity pool of approximately 70 m2. The lovely garden includes a lawn of 300 m2, and there is parking on the property for 4-6 cars.
West wing: The ground floor includes the main entrance, the guest WC, 1 double bedroom with bed size 180×200, a private bathroom with shower, and a shared terrace with the main entrance area. In addition, on this floor is the living room (with fireplace) leading to the dining room and kitchen located in the east wing. The living room also accesses a balcony with sea views and the pergola covered outdoor lounge with beautiful views which leads to the pool and garden area.
The first floor includes 1 double bedroom with bed size 180×200, a private bathroom with shower, and a balcony with sea views (which is also accessed by the hallway), and access to the south courtyard. Furthermore, there is a triple bedroom with 1 bed size 180×200, and a single bed size 90×190 and a balcony with sea views, as well as a twin bedroom with 2 single beds size 90×200. These 2 bedrooms share a bathroom with shower which also includes 1 of the 2 washing machines provided.
East wing: The ground floor includes the spacious kitchen fitted with 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers, a wine-fridge, and a pantry; the large dining room (with fireplace) which seats 14, and access to the pergola covered outdoor lounge. In addition, a hallway off the kitchen leads to the outdoor dining area with BBQ, as well as 1 double bedroom with bed size 180×200 and private bathroom with shower and where the 2nd washing machine is located. This bedroom has large sliding doors leading to a covered terrace next to the outdoor dining area.
The first floor includes a double bedroom with bed size 180×200, a private bathroom with bathtub and shower, a wardrobe area, and a private balcony with sea views. Furthermore, there is a second bedroom with 2 twin beds size 90×190, a private bathroom with shower, and a balcony with sea views.
The lower level accesses the part of the basement with the gym. The hot tub is accessed by the gym, and also with an external staircase from the garden area.
The gym contains the following: • Gym room, bathroom with WC, sink and shower • Excite Live Run Treadmill • Excite Live Synchro Elliptical Machine • Skillrow Rowing Machine • Technogym Bench with dumbbell 2.5 -10kg • Dumbbell 12-22kg • Adjustable Weight Lifting Bench • A Crunch Bench There are also some yoga mats, a 65inch TV, and a Sonos amp with in-ceiling speaker.
The gym will be accessible for guests under 2 conditions : • Gym rule agreement signed, with no access for unattended children under 15; all equipment should be used exclusively within the gym. • Liability waiver letter signed.
The hot tub is accessible to all guests without condition. Type built in Kos Minipool of 2.3m in diameter, seating 5 persons.
The rental price of the villa includes free use of the hot tub. Discount of € 500 per week if the gym is not needed.
The villa is in impeccable condition and built to a high quality, with comfortable, lovely interiors and emphasis given to excellent beds, sun-beds, parasols, and other furniture. In total, the living area of the villa is 400 m2 plus balconies and terraces (not including the basement).
All rooms have air-con units, and many of the rooms as well as the outdoor lounge are in addition equipped with ceiling fans. Outdoors: A gated entrance leads to the parking area large enough for 4-6 cars is on the lower level of the property and includes a carport for 3 cars. From this level there is a path leading to the pool and lawn area, as well as a staircase leading to the main entrance on the ground floor level.
The infinity pool and large lawn are located on the ground floor level and have exceptional views to the bay of Almyrida, Souda Bay, the open sea, the Akrotiri peninsula towards the north, and the magnificent White Mountains towards the west and south. On this level there is also the outdoor dining area and the outdoor pergola covered lounge.
The southern part of the property is undeveloped and closed off providing adequate distance from the nearest neighbour, Emerald, a small family run hotel. This hotel also has a small restaurant with very good food, and is only 90 meters from the villa. Apart from the hotel, the immediate vicinity includes private villas, and a few large apartments.
The house was plastered using river-sand from Santorini combined with eggs and yogurt to encourage algae bloom, resulting in an aged effect.

The property was absolutely amazing. There was a total of 14 of us and the space accommodated us well. There was plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, no issues there. The kitchen was large enough for several of us to be using at the same time and was fully stocked with all the equipment needed. The outdoor pool area was breathtaking, the pictures online are REAL! The property was close to several markets and restaurants. The property was private and peaceful a true gem.

Incredible villa!
We came with two families- 9 people- teenagers and young kids. The Villa is even more spectacular than the photos. So much room, everyone had their own “space” and bathrooms. Great kitchen for cooking- all the things you need. And the pool and view… remarkable.
Location is ideal for having private space at the Villa, but 2 minute drive to local beaches, restaurants, and shops.
Property manager is lovely- anything that came up (and it was very little), she responded immediately and handled it.

Incredible views with wonderful pool! Large family holiday and we loved it!!
The highlight is the view across to the peninsula. It is stunning! And there are plenty of places from which to enjoy it. Sitting in the shade by the villa, on sun loungers round the pool, in the pool or from various balconys.
Location: halfway between Rethymnon and Chania make it great for airport or ferry. Short walk to Plaka (5 mins) with good supermarkets and one very good taverna and a couple of other OK ones. Slightly longer walk (15 mins) down to Almyrida with more choice of tavernas and two or three small beaches. Good taxi service back up the hill if you don't want to walk. NB. The driveway down to the villa is steep for those with walking difficulties
Rooms: All great. Most with ensuite. Two rooms share a bathroom. All but one have great views across the sea and have their own balconies. The master suite is amazing with windows on all sides, a large dressing room and bathroom (with bath and shower). Perfect for us with 20+ year old 'children', their partners, parents and a grandparent. Lots of space and privacy for us all so we didn't feel we were living on top of each other
Living areas: large and spacious, outside and in, with lots of places for us all to sit together or in smaller groups. Kitchen very well kitted out, with everything you could imagine to cook with (only a four ring hob, slightly surprising for such a large villa but was fine for us)
Management: Alexandra responsive and Carina was v helpful day to day

Perfect location, beautiful views, luxury
Group of 10 with 4 kids and 2 families.
The villa is wonderful. Having the separate wings and 2 staircases gives each family that bit of space and makes bedtimes so much easier. Also the kitchen is the most equipped we have ever stayed at everything is there even a cocktail shaker!
The views are as good as they look, in fact having the views of the Crete mountains and the bay make this truly breath taking, we never tired of it after 10 days.
Thirdly the location is perfect. The villa is not overlooked, very private but Plaka center is 5 mins uphill and has a few restaurants. Next door the emerald Hotel has a great restaurant, the emerald salad is amazing, but the fish, mushrooms and prawns equally great. Even at the top of road, sunset restaurant is also fabulous, food. Much grown in their own garden, you can tell how proud they are of their delicious food.
I should also add communication with Alexandra and Carina was fast and they answered all queries prior to our stay and during. Fabulous service, super clean villa. Luxury and we hope to return one day!

Everything about our stay in this beautiful villa was excellent. The views from the master bedroom were breathtaking from three different glass doors and balconies. The daytime view was of the sea and mountains and the nighttime view was of the twinkling lights from across the sea. We also all enjoyed the views from the covered outdoor seating. There was plenty of room for our large party for board games, reading or just listening to music from the provided stereo.
In the home, the host provided everything we could possibly desire in amenities or just small touches. The decor of the home was stylish but also functional; and everything was spotlessly clean. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with plenty of things for use by our large party. There was a choice of outdoor or indoor seating for meals with plenty of room for everyone.
The host was very helpful in arranging for transportation ( I recommend renting a car) and recommendations for restaurants and day tours. There were no problems with communication and the host was very professional and friendly.
The Emerald next door is an excellent place to eat and enjoy the sea view. But I also highly recommend using the services of the cook. Sula is a delightful person and we loved her cooking. She also provided olive oil and honey that she grew and produced herself.
The only small problem we had was with the WiFi. There were two routers since it is a large home but we kept having problems with one of them. The host attempted to remedy the problem but we still had trouble.

The property is perfect for a large group. Fantastic space in the home with no one feeling cramped, tremendous pool and views from bedrooms and outdoor space, close to 2 villages with great restaurants, lots to do within reasonable drive. Everyone was super relaxed.....
