Great, clean property close to beach

This two bedroom duplex home worked great for our small family. We had one toddler with us and felt it was a great fit for us. They provided beach toys, chairs, tent and a wagon to transport it. House was very clean. I only deducted one star because the beds/mattress were uncomfortable and squeaked at the slightest movement. Also, a few extra beach and bath towels would have been beneficial, as they provided exactly one per person (2 per bathroom).

Really enjoyed this getaway!

Had a wonderful time with my husband here! Close to the beach, makes for a wonderful post-breakfast walk. The signage to get to the beach is a bit hidden but we found our way! Would recommend for anyone looking for a quaint, comfortable vacation spot near the beach!

Amazing AMI vacation!

Turtle Crawl was the perfect spot for our family vacation. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated. We loved the location. We were close to the beach and to Pine Street shops and restaurants. The pool offered a great alternative to the beach during cool weather. AMI Accommodations was great about communicating with me during our stay! I’d definitely return to this property!

Clean, but no sleep!

This property was very clean and well kept. The provided beach chairs and wagon were a nice touch. House is only 3 blocks from the Bean Point beach access point, but then a couple of hundred yards to the beach from that point. If you have small children or elderly family members, it will be a challenge. Our only real gripe is with the beds. The mattress in the master is so soft that I couldn’t sleep on it, so we traded the master to the kids and we took the secondary bedroom with the small hallway bathroom. The second bedroom mattress is only marginally better then the master. I’ve stayed at some very cheap rural motels in my lifetime and the mattresses were never even as bad as this. Needless to say, the mattresses desperately need to be replaced. The lower back pain each morning really put a damper on the vacation.

Excellent location with regards to beach, shops and restaurants. Very clean inside but pool had a lot of trash. Beach chairs are in poor condition. The "preliminary" supply of soap is of very poor quality (dish) and is not sufficient to last even one week. We requested an additional two pods of dishwasher soap and they declined. If you are flying - this maybe any issue. Bath towels are also very small and there is zero extra supplies (salt/coffee filters etc.) Overall a good place to stay - just could use a few upgrades.

The good/the bad

This is a great property for a couple or two. It was just the two of us. We found the en-suite master bed way too soft (a foam topper on it) so ended up sleeping in the other bedroom. It is also a king and newer and we found it quite comfortable. The property has a lovely spacious pool but keep in mind that it is shared with guests in the other unit of the duplex. Unit has a washer/dryer both relatively new but the dryer took well over an hour and my clothes were still not dry. Ended up draping things over chairs and laying some items out in the sun to finish drying.

Nice, Clean and Close to the Beach

We had a wonderful time in Anna Maria Island. The duplex was super clean, bright, well decorated and had everything we needed. The backyard and pool were very nice. We enjoyed cooling down after a long day on the beach. The walk to the beach was not terribly far at all. The beach access path was nice and shady and the path to the water was partially hard packed, so when we used the wagon it wasn't a struggle through the sand the whole way. Literally the only issue we had was the mattress in the primary bedroom was not comfortable for us. After the first night we bought a mattress topper. Problem solved. We loved having beach towels available, an umbrella, plenty of boogie boards, and a wagon to pull everything in. We brought our own chairs but there were a couple there. Restaurants and shops were close by. Could walk or bike if you wanted to. There was also a beach access with bike racks if you'd prefer to bike to the beach. We will definitely be back!

The easy block and a half walk to the sandy beach at Bean Point was convenient. The pool was great and the living area was very comfortable. Would stay here again.

Family vacation

As described. Both beds had issues during our stay. Slats and leg broke on kids bed, and the last night we were there, a leg gave way under the master bed. Mind you, nothing but sleeping in the beds. Also, beds haven't been swept under in a while. Other than that, the property was as described and fairly comfortable. Will likely book again.

Fantastic week at AMI

The property was great. Pictures were spot on. Communication and suggestions from manager were good. The pool was perfect for a late afternoon cool down from a day at the beaches. Super location for AMI. Suggestion- provide a few additional garbage bags, more than one dishwasher pod and perhaps an extra roll of TP. GREAT TRIP. looking forward to returning to AMI in the future.

FANTASTIC TIME AT TURTLE CRAWL

Combing through page after page of potential vacation properties can be daunting & exhausting. I can honestly tell you that my choice of Turtle Crawl could not have been better. The property was extremely clean and although it was renovated 10 years ago, it looks like it was done last year. The tile work in the roomy bathrooms was beautifully done. The kitchen, with its stainless steel appliances was great and had just about everything you'd need to cook whatever you need to. The heated in ground pool and outdoor showers were great for cooling off after a day at the beach. There's a great gas bbq for all of your grilling needs. As far as the beach goes, I really don't think you could find a better location. The actual walk to the beach is actually about 3 blocks before you can plop down your chairs. Since there is literally no parking in the area, the beach was virtually EMPTY every day. The sand was powder soft white sand and the water was PERFECT. Beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels were provided. I would highly recommend the mangrove kayak tour (thru Surf it), a trip to historic Bridge Street (try the Blue Marlin restaurant) and the Anna Maria Pier (for happy hour beers, a snack & live music) get there an hour or so before sunset. The Rod & Reel pier has a great little full service friendly restaurant, we had a great (inexpensive) breakfast there. If you're looking for a quiet getaway or a week full of nighly live music in incredibly beautiful surroundings, Anna Maria Island cannot be beat. ENJOY!

Perfect vacation

We loved the house, and pool, and the location to the beach. There was plenty of storage/ closet space. Beautiful kitchen with a laundry room so I didn't even mind doing wash on vacation. Would definitely return there in the future.

An almost perfect little duplex

We loved our time at this duplex. It was very clean with nice furnishings and décor. The kitchen was well-equipped with new cabinets, counters, appliances, etc. The skylight made the living area bright and open. The pool is right outside the backdoor and there are plenty of pool floats and beach toys to take down to the beach. There are even beach towels and an assortment of useful items in the laundry room closet. Our only complaint is that the king bed in the master bedroom is very noisy with each little movement. The mattress is also kind of soft. I think the other bed was better so if we stayed here again, we'd just sleep in the other room. It was only a few more dollars per night than the previous place we stayed which was very close by, but a much nicer property. It is an easy walk or bike ride to the beach. The unit is just as pictured. I just wish the master bedroom bed was a better quality and quiet.

Beautiful relaxing stay

The home is a lot bigger than I expected. Very spacious for 4 adults. Newly remodeled and done well. Pool is great. Very short walk to the beautiful beach. Quiet neighborhood. Just be aware there are no spices, not even salt or pepper. Very clean home and there was an easy check in. It was a perfect place for us, and we had a fantastic stay.

Little haven Turtle Crawl.

Beautiful place to stay on lovely Anna Maria Island. Pretty decor throughout the house, set in a quiet neighbourhood. Oven difficult to workout, hot plates were better! All in all though a wonderful holiday, walking to & from the beach watching the Osprays in their nest on the neighbour's roof fascinating !!! Maureen & Ian Osbourn (Yorkshire, England)
