Built in 1856, the Old Workshop is part of a unique set of buildings which were the working centre of Rck estate. The property comprises a spacious open-plan living area with large French windows leading onto the patio, linked to the stylish dining kitchen. Guests are welcome to use the culinary herbs at the front of the cottage for cooking during their stay. There is solid oak flooring throughout the property. The small entrance hall links to the spacious bedroom with a large built-in wardrobe.
The Old Workshop forms part of the Rock village estate and is well placed for easy visits to the stunning Northumbrian coastline and fabulous local countryside walks. The village has a well-marked trail past the ancient church. Alnwick has most major supermarkets, with free parking, and services including a library and theatre. There are several pubs, petrol station and post office /village store in Embleton, 3 miles away. One mile away, Rennington has a pub within walking distance. The golden beaches of Newton-by-the-Sea and Embleton are less than 5 miles away.

There are many fabulous coastal walks in the area. Golfers are spoilt for choice being within easy reach of many first-class coastal courses. Inland, the Northumberland National Park is a stunning area of natural beauty, a magnet for cyclists, bird watchers and anglers. The market town of Alnwick, five miles away, is famous for its castle, featured in Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey, and the splendid gardens. Rothbury is also a town worth visiting To the north lies the busy town of Seahouses and the Farne Islands. Amble is an interesting working fishing port to the south and near the successful nature reserve on Low Hauxley. For those who want a longer day out the main east coast line is at Hipsburn /Alnmouth for a trip to Newcastle or Edinburgh.
