The cabin was in a secluded spot surrounded by evergreens just as I had hoped. Views from all of the windows were lovely. The kitchen had a microwave and a cool induction stove. The woodwork all over inside the cabin was beautiful and made it feel very different from a regular home. The interior decorations and furniture, including several neat lamps, were lovely. All the switches and remotes are clearly labeled. The wood stove was warm and fun to figure out. Unfortunately there is no table to sit at inside- just a very low counter in the kitchen with only 2 awkward stools. Getting up to the cabin from the driveway was difficult because of the makeshift stone steps with no railing and low lighting. I felt lucky every time I got up or down it without falling :). The inside flooring is beautiful clay tile and wood but uneven with some trip and slip hazards. The spiral staircase up to the loft bedroom was an adventure as well with very narrow, triangular treads, but it was worth the journey up the stairs to sleep under such a cool ceiling with exposed rafters on an old-fashioned metal bed and have the use of the powder bathroom up there. I hope we followed all of the many check-out directions correctly and don’t incur any additional charges. It was quite stressful the morning we left, making sure we’d cleaned all the floors and washed and put away all the dishes, and dealt with wet towels, and secured the trash. Overall, the Spruce Chalet was worth the stress.
