'Waikiki Malia was clean and affordable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The elevators are a pain in the @$$, though. While we appreciate the convenience of on-site parking, trying to park an SUV was challenging. Also, navigating the tight turns in the parking structure was scary. I’m so surprised we didn’t scratch the car trying to exit. It wasn’t a bad stay at the hotel, just a couple of things that made the stay less than stellar.'

'I like that this property is so close to the beach and shopping area. The gym and laundry facilities located on the same floor was convenient. I was able to work out while waiting for the laundry to be done. The manager’s reception with live music and the breakfast with miso soup daily sweet fresh pineapple were really enjoyable. 'Heavily overpriced for the quality you get (on food and beverages). Also paying for beach chairs etc. Hotel is nice and we enjoyed the installation but food and beverages were very basic while all charged on premium rates. Also very high fees to rent beach equipment which in my point of view is outrageous. We have much better experiences in Hawaii concerning that so definitively something to improve. No problem to pay a price but you expect something in return which we didn't feel at all. '
