We had an amazing stay at Aluna. It's a perfect location if you're looking for somewhere a bit quieter and more relaxing in Nungwi, but still very walkable along the beach to bars and restaurants. The room was a great size, comfortable and good air conditioning, and the food at both the hotel restaurant and the beach club was exceptional. Plus the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming too. Highly recommend staying here!

Vacker, lummig miljö - som att bo i en djungel med två pooler. Rummen var fräscha, sängarna sköna. Trevlig personal, och god mat i restaurangen. Vi var väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse!

Aluna is a beautiful property surrounded by lush tropical plants and trees. With 2 pools and ample sunbeds it was a very relaxing stay for us. Our lodge type room was lovely but we would have liked a fridge in the room. The beach was just a short walk away but the road outside the hotel that lead to the beach bar could have been better with some lighting. The breakfast was very nice but we thought the days when it was buffet style rather than a la carte was a much better idea. We had a massage during our stay which was very good and great value for money. All the staff were excellent and so helpful. We would definitely recommend Aluna.

Just perfect
The place is so peaceful and so beautiful. The restaurant on the beach was clearly one of the best tried in Zanzibar. Special mention for the staff, that was the kindest people we meet. Everyone was so nice. I totally recommend the hotel !

La struttura si inserisce perfettamente nell’ambiente ed ho particolarmente gradito la vegetazione, il legno e le due piscine che sembrano incastonate nella natura! Le persone che lavorano all’Aluna hanno sempre un sorriso da regalare e sono disponibili per qualsiasi eventualità. Abbiamo avuto nostra figlia che non è stata bene ma sono stati tutti gentilissimi e le preparavano appositamente da mangiare. Sono bene organizzati e con il Tuctuc sono facilmente raggiungibili le spiagge di Nungwi e Kendwa o i vari ristorantini sulla costa. Un posto davvero rilassante !

I loved my stay at Aluna Nungwi. The staff was so helpful, welcoming and amazing. The room and pool was perfect for relaxing. The food was great- both at the restaurant at the hotel and the one on the beach. Just be aware the beach near the hotel isn’t the best but you can arrange a Tuk tuk to Nungwi. For me I loved just hanging by the pool and getting massages (which were the best!)

Godt personale, god morgenmad. Crowded pool område med begrænset mulighed for at få plads og derfor nødsaget til at gå ned på strand baren og sole i stedet. Udemærket wifi, der dog sommetider ikke virkede (standard på Zanzibar). Tager overpris for transport og ture sammenlignet med andre steder.

If there could be a way to stop that. Nungwi Beach (and Zanzibar) actually would be a really nice place to visit. We felt harassed and would not recommend Nungwi Beach to anyone. We wanted to stay at the quiet end of Nungwi Beach. We felt we were constantly approached. More on the quite side than on the main beach.

Un super séjour à l’Aluna Nungwi, un hôtel au petit soin pour ses hôtes. Terrible experience. Had booked a 2 night stay ans changed it to 1 night because of how bad it was. First they got our booking wrong and then made us run around to sort it out, with not a single care in the world. Secondly, there was no power for over 12 hours! We were promised a refund and a discount for the first night- However we were charged the full initial amount, for an experience that wasn’t worth even half the price. Extremely disappointed.

The accommodation is excellent, if you want something cozy and private. The conditions were very good, if you take into account the location. There were some small flaws here and there, but they were all minor. The biggest downsite is the fact that it's not on the beach but 2 minutes away from one. For us this was more than acceptable

Location wise: Aluna Nungwi is located on a quiet private beach just a 20 minute walk via the beach from Nungwi town. But our tuk-tuk will gladly take you to Nungwi town within 5 minutes. We do our utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible with our two swimming pools, high maintenance, the gardens and the service of all our people. Good to read that our manager was able to make the stay a bit more pleasant.

Ein sehr schönes Hotel zum fairen Preis
Die Hotelanlage ist einfach richtig schön gemacht und sehr durchdacht. Sehr viele Pflanzen und zwei verschiedene Pool runden den Eindruck ab. Das Hotelzimmer war sehr modern und sauber. Highlight war sicherlich der große Whirlpool auf dem Balkon. Zusätzlich stand als Hotels.com gold Mitglied, eine Flasche Sekt zur Begrüßung in Zimmer bereit. Die Lage ist wohl der einzige Kritikpunkt. Es ist schon sehr weit weg vom Schuss. Der nächste Strandabschnitt ist eigentlich zum vergessen. Und zum turistischen Teil Nungwi's muss man schon so 15 Minuten durch das Village gehen. Das ist aber für viele wohl abschreckend, da es dort halt einfach das normale Leben der einheimischen wiederspiegelt. Und das ist nicht so schön, wie auf den Werbeplakaten. Allerdings kann ich es nur jedem empfehlen. Man braucht dort keine Angst haben. Ich empfehle diesen Hotel jeden, der seine Zeit im Hotel verbringen möchte oder von dort aus Tagestouren macht. Wer Aktion will, ist hier nicht an der richtigen Adresse.

Positief: Netheid, personeel en service, voorzieningen en staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
Overall the resort is lovely. All staff are just fabulous and the grounds are very well kept. The room was very spacious. The only reason for 4 stars was the power issue. I know it wasn’t the fault of the resort but we had no power at night not even to run the fan or any lights (better not have to use the toilet). In addition, the AC didn’t work so it was just 33 degree damp air with no movement. Still the staff were fabulous and if they can get the power sorted out it would be a full 5 stars!
