The whole building was full or character and very stylishly decorated to a high level with a selection of D-day memorabilia and information in the dining room. 'Yes, it's one of the few hotels on mont saint michel and obviously you are paying extra for that location. I booked this room so I could stay on the island in the evening and early morning without the crowds, which worked great. I did not expect much else since the whole place is full of crappy souvenir shops and low effort restaurants. It makes sense because most people visit once in their life so there is no expectation of repeat customers anyway, and the same goes for hotels so I expected it...
