'Breakfast was great, staff was nice and the location was perfect. However, Housekeeping left our door open by accident and it stayed like this the whole day until we came back late at night. We're lucky that nothing was stolen, but this could've ended very differently... That's why I can't give a higher rating. '

'I stayed overnight at The Grand York recently and had a lovely experience. I had a late check-in and Nigel (the porter) arranged a table at a lovely restaurant nearby for me. The room was extremely nice (there was one minor issue which I raised with staff the next day, but wasn’t anything major that it detracted from my stay). 'The reception staff were so welcoming, especially Jen who welcomed us like old friends. So chatty and lovely and a such a great start to our trip. Hotel and room was clean and looked great and just what we needed. Rooms were nice and warm during this cold weather however the hallways were a bit chilly! Would absolutely recommend and will return. '
