We were contacted by Rob by phone to say that the Cedar lodge was booked even though I had booked it through Vrbo, there was a problem paying so I had to call Hoeseasons to pay over the phone, Rob booked us into the Rowan lodge which was exactly the same layout & price as the Cedar, it was lovely well presented, modern, everything you need, we got settled in then followed the instructions to the Oaks golf club for something to eat & drink, this was a 10 minute walk easy enough, the golf club didnt disappoint, the staff were very friendly, helpful, they wrote down taxi numbers incase we needed them, the meals were big portions (took mine back in a box) reasonably priced for what you got, they even had Famous Grouse whisky so coming from Scotland that was a treat(my fav tipple), on the walk home Rob passed and picked us up dropped us off at the lodge which was very nice of him, my hubby did a little fly fishing in the lake caught a Rudd just before the heavens opened we ventured into York on the Saturday we took the park & ride so much easier than trying to park in York, did a little sight seeing had a late lunch then got the bus back to car,we chilled in the lodge on the Saturday night which was just like home from home, Sunday we popped back to the golf club for Sunday dinner(which we booked in advance on the Friday night) again it didnt disappoint, food was lovely, some of the golf members chatted to us which was nice so we didnt feel uneasy being there,
