Location, Location, Location
The location! The perfect property to stay and walk on the beach and watch sunsets. It was a little chilly at night, so we wanted to use the gas fireplace. We lit it and it would run for about 3 minutes and then shut off including pilot light. Fortunately, there were baseboards for heat. Shower was dirty on base both inside and outside. In short, great place to stay with minor issues.

Little Red Hideaway - Nice view, but ........
Little Red Hideaway – Yachats Pluses: 1. Easy access to 804 trail 2. A great beachfront view Minuses: 1. Gas fireplace would have been a plus, but it didn’t work and we got no advance warning of the situation nor any accommodation from the rental agent 2. No dishwasher 3. Steep stairway up to bedroom 4. The bedroom is on the second floor; the bathroom is on the first floor 5. Bed is really two single beds pushed together covered with a foam pad – not very comfortable 6. Shower is so small you can’t bend over 7. Only permanent heat sources are one electric baseboard heater and a wall heater in the bathroom. Portable space heaters were provided to help heat the place. 8. Using a space heater in the kitchen and making coffee at the same time tripped a circuit breaker 9. Limited number of electrical outlets 10. The furniture and cabinetry are worn out 11. The front door doesn’t fully open because it binds against floor 12. Salmon Street is more like an unimproved alley – complete with potholes 13. Driveway turns to mud when it rains We would not recommend.

Amazing location
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Little Red Cabin. The location on the beach and proximity to the trail leading to Yachats was a pleasant surprise. The bed upstairs was not comfortable with the foam mattress pad and we were not quite prepared for how rustic the cabin was. But, all in all we had a great stay. Thank you, Janet

Great location!
An amazing ocean view from the living room and back porch. Very quick and easy walk down to the beach. The home is located on the 804 trail that you can follow into town. We had a great stay! Highly recommend.

Perfect little getaway
This was the perfect little getaway spot for me and my husband as we celebrated his birthday. The kitchen was stocked of pots/pans/utensils, the house was clean, the couch was super comfy and the bed was comfortable. The fireplace was a perfect touch for the cold and stormy nights we were there. My only complaint wasn't about the house at all, but that it was difficult to get down to the beach. It looked like the wooden steps/pathway was blocked and the only way to get to the beach was down a bunch of slippery rocks. We made it... But it was a little treacherous. The house was perfect and you cannot beat that view 😍

Cute house and fantastic location
Upon entry, my wife and I both commented on how cute the house is -- perhaps the size is better suited for couple or couple with small child, but we made it work just fine for the two of us and our two kids (12 and 10). And the location can't be beat. Southernmost point of miles of sandy beach and Northernmost point of amazing 804 trail, which can be run (or walked) all the way into town. Great stay. Have already recommended to others. And very pleased with property management. Britney was fantastic. She was quick to respond and definitely had our best interests in mind.

Happy at the Beach
This was a cozy retreat for our family of five. Such character in the cottage and we enjoyed the gorgeous ocean view from the picture windows. We saw whales the entire stay! The kitchen had all we needed for cooking our local seafood purchases and the back porch had seating for all. The beds are upstairs so make note if you wouldn’t be ready to climb them(comfy leather pull out couch is downstairs). Also, noted that the bathroom and shower are smaller (it’s a cottage) but clean and had plenty of towels. We would like to return!!

Most perfect and beautiful location
Our family had the most wonderful vacation at the little red hideaway. I cannot describe in words how perfect the location is, right next to the 804 trail, and steps from the ocean. The waves can be heard to lull you to sleep every evening after watching the sunset. The house is cozy, cute and perfect for a little family. We will absolutely visit again.

Incredible coastal retreat
We loved our stay at this cottage, to be honest it was better than the pictures in the description. The proximity to the beach and coastal trail were great and the house was perfectly supplied with everything you would need. We will definitely be staying here again and recommending it to friends.

Honeymoon
My wife and I honeymooned here, and absolutely loved the location on the beach, the coziness of the house, and the views. There was several times that we noticed things hadn’t been cleaned super well, but pretty minor things like dirty carpet and dishes. We loved staying here, and would definitely stay again.

Amazing Location
The house is in the most amazing location, and the home is well cared for. The communication with the property manager didn't go quite as well. I tried asking a question about a couple basic items that were missing from the kitchen, but never had a response back. The fireplace wasn't working when we got there(you definitely want to use the fireplace! Big part of the charm....)Someone from property management came over to start it, but the heat couldn't be regulated and it became to hot in the cottage. It had to be turned off and couldn't be restarted. If that issue is fixed by now, and if the managers can provide a better response to their email, then this is gets a 5 star rating from me!

Unbeatable location
The location was absolutely stellar. The access to the beach trail was great and that picture window to the ocean was amazing. Living room was super cozy and lovely. The king bed was two twins connected by a foam piece of some sort. Not uncomfortable, but noticeable and a little odd. Given the rental company’s messaging around extra cleaning during COVID, we felt the cleaning fell short. The iPad with property instructions on it looked dirty with many visible fingerprints/smudges on it and the floors upstairs were pretty dusty, as were the tops of fridge and tall shelves. For views/location would highly recommend.

This property is not as advertised
I was very disappointed in this property. Other then the location and view being beautiful it is below normal standards. When I arrived the house was very dusty and had not been sanitized as required for covid. The linens were in a bag in the middle of the floor. There was no TV or internet. When I called about it I was told it wasn't guaranteed. The barbecue was tipped over and broken in half.. The gas fireplace didn't work. There's a very long narrow staircase up to the bedroom. I'm 5'5" and 118 lbs. and it was difficult for me to get up and down. The only bathroom is downstairs. This property is definitely not suitable for elderly or someone who has any mobility problem. The paint is peeling off the outside of the house and there's junk piled on the side of the house. The interior is aged and very basic. It's on a narrow dirt/gravel road. There was one key in a old key box. When I asked for a second key I was told I didn't need one.

Your reservation dates fell after a huge storm which then in turn created the forest fires that we had to deal with. We cancelled your reservation and refunded you in full due to the state of emergency. Oregon was enduring terrible wildfires and high wind advisories which created extended power outages and utility outages. We have never gone through anything like that on the Oregon Coast and I am sorry your reservation was during that unpleasant time. This home is very popular with our guests and we have many people return year after year. We do our best to meet our guests needs, if we are aware of them before booking. If our guests have certain needs, we will suggest homes that will accommodate them. We have also changed a lot of our procedures due to Covid. This is why your towels were still in the linen bag. To ensure they are fresh and clean for your stay, with minimal people touching them. We do have one key for each home that we ask our guests to leave in the lockbox during their stay. This tends to minimize on lost keys. I hope you were able to make it home safely. All of the best, The Sweet Homes Team

I loved the location and view. Would have been handy to know that the stairs to the bedroom were very steep. The house was clean enough but we thought it could be cleaner. There is/was a blue straw in the corner of the living room facing the ocean. Also, the shower was wonderful but the floor pan seemed kind of gross.

Great location but so so cottage
We loved the location of the little red hideaway. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with beach access just steps from the door. We also loved having a full kitchen and being able to hear the waves all day. I’m giving it three stars because we just thought it would be nicer. The bedding and mattress weren’t great, the shower is tiny, there are just two plastic adirondacks on the porch, and it’s an old cottage ( we liked the charm of it, but for the price we thought it would just be nicer inside).

Perfect location

Yes. Just yes.
The location is indescribable - absolutely perfect. We could make dinner while our kids (adolescents) were able to frolic in the ocean. It’s literally the backyard. Our family of five was very comfortable. The house itself is cozy and we had zero complaints.

It was a great, rainy week!
We loved the location of this house. Great views of the beach and ocean. Perfect for the two of us. There were a few little things that could have been better. The king size bed is not very comfortable. We understand that it is made so that it can be two beds, but the ridge in the middle is annoying. There is a small leak at the bottom of the shower surround in the bottom corner under the clothes hooks behind the door to the bathroom that we thought you should know about. The turquoise blanket on one of the chairs in the living room is pulled to the point that it is the size of a towel (nit-picky I know, but it was rainy and cold when we were there). The floor could have been cleaned a little better even though it's hard to keep the sand out. Some pieces of furniture, particularly in the kitchen had dust, sand under them; one had a small tube of hand lotion under it (the one with the coffee pot on it) It really is a great beach cottage and we enjoyed it very much!

Lovely location
The little red hideaway was perfect for two. Beautiful ocean view and just steps from the beach. The kitchen was nicely outfitted: the sleeping loft was comfortable and cozy. The gas fireplace was not working while we were there. The staff at Sweet Home were very responsive. They sent someone out on a Saturday to light it after they had the propane tank filled. I would definitely stay here again.

Simple and sublime
Simple, but big on charm with wonderful views out big picture windows. Small, but stylish, comfortable living room furnishings, good lamps for reading, a table for games as well as a simple kitchen table for morning coffee. Literally steps from the beach. Covered porch with chairs for those drizzly days. I can't wait to return and experience stormy weather. Availability of a few board games would have been a nice touch.

Great view of the Beach and Great Beach Access
The house is old and quaint. No dishwasher. Shower was not so clean - old dirt around edges. The pictures made it look like there was a bedroom and a loft. In reality, the bedroom and the loft were all together, not two separate areas. Since it was just the two of us, no problem, but any more people might find the sleeping arrangement not so private. My main complaint is the price. It was advertised at $X per night, but, by the time they added all of their other charges, it cost twice that much. I would pay the $X per night but not the full price I was actually charged - except for the view and beach access - not worth over $XXX per night that we did end up paying.

What a fabulous location!
Perched at the top of the 804 trail, The Little Red Hideaway was a great retreat. Well supplied and very clean, we enjoyed our week on the Oregon Coast. There is a very comfortable queen sleeper in the living room. In the loft bedroom another comfortable king bed; my only "but" is that it is somewhat treacherous at night to use the bathroom. Still a beautiful vantage point to view the gorgeous Pacific.

We had a very comfortable stay at the little red hideaway. The ocean views from the living area are wonderful. This is important because the weather will often have you inside. The furniture comfortable. The gas fire place warmed the area quickly. The beach was a short but somewhat steep walk (the stairs were remove for the winter). We brought our pooch and had a great time. Sweet Home was very responsive to all of our inquiries. I would recommend this place highly for a couple. There is a pull out couch for an additional 2 people and a separate twin bed upstairs for another, but the overall area is small for 4 adults.

The Hideaway sits so perfectly on the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and where the 804 Walking Trail ends at the sandy beach which is perfect for kite-flying and building sand castles.
