The room was as expected for a budget option, with decently comfortable (albeit somewhat squeaky) mattresses, adequate access and lighting, and clean linens. However there was zero noise protection from neighboring rooms. The room directly above ours must have had multiple small children and the laminate flooring in each room meant that you heard every footstep, every chair pull, everything. There was a powdery residue on the sink counter in the bathroom and the shower nozzle was caked in calcium buildup, making only some shower streams possible. I understand that this is a budget hotel but even so, it was in need of some TLC and some serious soundproofing.
