Positief: Voorzieningen, staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
We stayed for two nights.
The setting on a hill overlooking the private reserve is simply breathtaking. The views are outstanding, and the atmosphere is very special. The staff is wonderful; Ndeshi, Ludo, Moses and Toini in particular made our stay memorable. The kitchen prepares excellent dishes and consistently goes the extra mile.
Given the comparatively high game drive prices, especially if you want to see predators, the math is quite simple and we decided to upgrade to full board. Guests should be aware that full board, unlike in many other lodges, only includes soft drinks, beers and house wine (no liquor), and that massages are charged as add-ons.
Unfortunately, behind the scenes there are some critical quality issues. During our stay, there was a recurring problem with rodents entering guest rooms at night. In our case, we had a mouse in the room on both nights, making noise, misplacing personal items, and moving very close to the sleeping area.
To be fair, the staff on duty reacted professionally. They offered a room change in the middle of the night and waived part of our bill, which we appreciated.
Overall, we still recommend the lodge for its stunning scenery and genuinely warm people. However, from a price–value perspective, we experienced noticeably better value elsewhere in Namibia.
