Escape to Forest View, a spacious and welcoming family home set in a beautiful woodland location in Colehill, Dorset. Sitting right at the entrance to Cannon Hill Woods, the house offers the perfect combination of peace and privacy, plenty of space to spend time together, and easy access to some of Dorset’s most beautiful beaches, countryside and attractions.

Sleeping up to 8 guests across four comfortable double bedrooms, Forest View is ideal for families, friends and groups looking for a relaxed Dorset getaway. Whether you're spending summer days beside the heated pool, enjoying dinner outdoors, heading straight into the woods for a walk, or gathering around the fire pit in the evening, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the house and its surroundings.

The House

Forest View is a genuine family home, designed for comfortable, relaxed living rather than simply being a place to sleep.

The large kitchen is the heart of the house and is perfect for cooking and socialising together. There is casual kitchen dining for up to 8 guests, making it easy to enjoy breakfast or a relaxed meal together.

For more special occasions, there is also a separate dining table where everyone can sit down together for a longer, more leisurely meal.

The spacious sitting room provides plenty of room for everyone to relax, with a large 6-seater reclining sofa and additional 2-seater reclining sofa. There is also a 60-inch TV, making it the perfect place for a cosy movie night after a busy day exploring Dorset.

For guests who need to catch up with work during their stay, there is a separate office with a computer monitor, providing a dedicated workspace away from the main living areas.

The Bedrooms

Forest View has four double bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to 8 guests.

The bedrooms provide a peaceful space to retreat to after a day spent at the beach, exploring the woods or enjoying the pool.

The Garden

The large garden is one of Forest View's biggest attractions, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the outdoors.

There are several different areas for relaxing, dining and entertaining, so whether you want to sit quietly with a coffee, enjoy a long lunch outside or gather together in the evening, there is a space to suit everyone.

The garden is particularly special in summer, when the pool becomes the natural focal point for long, relaxed days outdoors.

Heated Outdoor Pool

The outdoor swimming pool is heated and available from April through to October.

Spend the day swimming, relaxing on the sun loungers or enjoying lunch beside the pool while the children play.

The pool area is surrounded by greenery and woodland, creating a lovely private and relaxed setting.

Please note that children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times and guests use the pool at their own risk.

Winter Hot Tub

During the cooler months, when the swimming pool is closed, Forest View offers the option of hot tub hire between October and March at an additional cost.

It's a wonderful way to enjoy the garden during the winter months — particularly after a woodland walk or a day exploring the Dorset coast.

Cannon Hill Woods on Your Doorstep

One of the things that makes Forest View particularly special is its location directly at the entrance to Cannon Hill Woods.

You can step out of the property and head straight into the woods for a walk, without needing to get in the car.

The woodland is home to a variety of birds and local wildlife, and you may even be lucky enough to spot deer.

The setting makes Forest View a wonderful choice for families who enjoy the outdoors, woodland walks, cycling and exploring.

Bicycle hire will also be available soon, making it even easier to explore the local area on two wheels.

Exploring Dorset

Although Forest View feels peaceful and tucked away, it is also ideally positioned for exploring Dorset.

Sandbanks & Poole

The beautiful beaches of Sandbanks and the coastline around Poole are approximately 20 minutes away by car.

Spend the day on the beach, enjoy a walk along the seafront, explore Poole Harbour or head to Sandbanks for its famous golden sands and clear waters.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth is also within easy reach, with its beaches, pier, restaurants, shops and lively seafront.

Wimborne

The historic market town of Wimborne Minster is just a short drive away and is well worth exploring. You'll find independent shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs and the beautiful Wimborne Minster itself.

Parley Manor

Forest View is conveniently located close to Parley Manor, making it an excellent accommodation option for guests attending a wedding or celebration there.

If you're travelling to Dorset for a wedding at Parley Manor, Forest View provides a comfortable base where your group can stay together.

Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door

For a day exploring the Jurassic Coast, Lulworth Cove and the iconic Durdle Door are approximately 45 minutes away by car.

These spectacular coastal landmarks are some of Dorset's most famous sights and make for an unforgettable day out.

A Great Base for a Dorset Getaway

Forest View works equally well for a summer beach holiday, a family gathering, a wedding weekend or a cosy winter escape.

In summer, spend your days beside the pool, enjoy outdoor meals and make the most of the large garden.

In autumn and winter, explore the woods, visit the coast, cosy up indoors and make use of the optional hot tub.

There is plenty of space to spend time together while also having room to find a quiet corner when you want some downtime.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive use of Forest View and its spacious garden throughout their stay, with direct access to Cannon Hill Woods from the property.

There is a private driveway with parking for up to six vehicles.

The separate studio and garage are private owner areas and are securely locked and not accessible to guests. They are completely separate from the guest accommodation and do not affect your privacy or use of the house, garden or pool.

Before your arrival, we'll be available through the booking platform for any questions or help you may need. Once you've checked in, we'll also be available by direct message, giving you a more personal and convenient way to contact us throughout your stay.

We're always happy to help, whether you need assistance with the house, have a question about the pool or would like recommendations for local beaches, restaurants, walks and days out.

We'll give you complete privacy to enjoy Forest View, but you'll always have someone on hand if you need us.

A Few Things to Note

Forest View is in a peaceful residential setting, so we kindly ask guests to respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum, particularly between 10pm and 8am. The property is perfect for family holidays and relaxed getaways and is not suitable for parties or events.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the property.

Please check our pet policy before booking. Where pets are permitted, we ask that they are kept under control and that guests clean up after them.

For your safety, exterior security cameras cover the entrance and driveway only. There are no cameras inside the property or overlooking private outdoor areas.
