'Very disappointed...walking into the facility and the first thing that you notice is it reeked of cigar/cigarette smoke. But yet you have stickers saying that it was a smoke free facility...BS. Not just a little, at the entrance, but all the way through the hotel and room, and I was up on the third floor. I had to go to the grocery store and get some Febreeze to get the smell out of the room. As far as first appearances, it was the 4th of July weekend and the grass wasn't even mowed.'

'They charge for ESA animals a 30$ fee per day. Only hotel I’ve ever stayed at in 6 years to ever charge me a fee. Room was clean. Tv channels only worked half the time. Jets in hot tub were broken. 'My room was super clean. For an older motel it was painted and fresh and new looking and I live parking right in front of my door. The property had baskets of flowers at each door which were stunning. A wonderful touch and the pricing was extremely good considering being the the lakes area of NW Iowa. Will definitely recommend to others and stay again when I'm in the area.'

The property next door was a red roof & the outside looks a whole lot nicer than the Fairfield. The indoor swimming has rust inside the walls all the way around the sides more towards the top. 'The staff was very welcoming and available. We enjoyed a drink at the bar later in the evening. The bartender ensured we were happy with our drinks! The breakfast room was a long way from our room and there was a problem with the decaf coffee - a minor inconvenience. The pool was even further away but, we ended up with no extra time to swim anyway. Our rooms were comfortable and clean.'
