« Not a great hotel - the room didn’t smell too great, the walls were really thin (and guests were pretty loud in the halls through 3 am as the came back from the casino), and the hotel apparently doesn’t clean rooms during your stay except by request (which would have been nice to know in advance). The staff were very nice, especially the servers at the main restaurant. Overall hard to believe this is a four star hotel. »

« We went to celebrate a birthday…not much to do outside in the middle of winter but we drove to Rocky Gap State Park and Cumberland Train depot. The cabin was clean and we enjoyed a snow day the day we left! »

« The Paddler's Retreat is REALLY out of the way. We enjoyed our stay however, people need to understand that all services are limited. Due to Covid there is only a very limited breakfast, mostly cold. If you want tea, you will need to use the microwave. The range is not available. Furthermore, the options are more limited for dinner. There is only a gas station / limited eatery that stop serving at 6:30pm. The little town, Confluence is about 5 miles away. « The communication with the host was excellent, and they helped us with a number of requests including a little early check-in and switching from heat to cooling due to our preference for cooler sleeping at night. The house is very tastefully renovated with high quality, and the beds very comfortable! The house is a duplex and the owner has a policy of no noise after 10 pm. So if quiet is a priority for you, it’s somewhat dependent on the neighbors cooperating. »
