This machine at this hotel repeatedly rejected my credit card and refused entry to the hotel on 27 April 2018, around 23:50 hrs.
As it was almost midnight and I had my family with me, I had no alternative but to go and find another hotel, which turned out to be more expensive.
I visited the Hotel Amys on 28 April 2018, and met the owner. He was needlessly aggressive and uncooperative and blamed the problems on MasterCard.
I explained to him that I had used the credit card a number of time earlier that evening to pay for the road tolls but he was completely not willing to consider a that this could be problem due to his own payment processor.
We agreed that I would complain to Mastercard about this and that I did not wish him to lose if the fault lay with the credit card company. I later found that my credit card had been debited anyway, which I find unacceptable pending a resolution of the matter.
