3. Hotel Himmelblau
Hotel HimmelblauBlumenau Centro, op 2,2 km van Vila Formosa
8.8 van 10, Voortreffelijk, (806 beoordelingen)
'Nice comfortable Hotel in Blumenau. Despite its name (Himmelblau) there is not much German about this Hotel. Only one staff member actually spoke some German. The rest (interior, food, etc) is 100% Brazilian.
Center of town is nearby, you can walk it all. Many fake German places with timberwork glued on concrete slabs. With some effort you can spot real old German houses down the main street, but most are in ruins or disrepair. Interesting history though, but the tourist dept better shape up...

'Hotel bastante antigo, sistema de TV péssimo, quarto pequeno, uma unica tomada e acustica ruim. Tambem faltou sensibilidade de ajustar o horario do cafe da manha já que a maioria dos hospedes ia correr a maratona e o cafe da manha era num horario que nao dava para tomar café antes e nem depois da maratona.'

'We were told this was a top hotel for the location. We were not very impressed. The rooms are small. We felt the front desk people were not super friendly or extra helpful. The hotel is definitely in a great location. The one thing that was amazing was the Paris 6 restaurant. Their food and service was really excellent. We cannot say the same about the breakfast buffet.
The gym is very small and became crowded. The spa was also small but the services offered were wonderful.'
