'Beautiful, fairy tales behind stay. The breakfast and evening meals were less good. There was also no possibility to eat in the village.Luckily the cook was kind enough to make a steak sandwich for us for the lunch.The staff were very helpful.'

'foute ontvangst, erg lang moeten wachten voordat we eindelijk in onze kamer konden, chaos overal, de manager zei dat t druk was, hoogseizoen, of we daar begrip voor konden hebben. eigenlijk niet, we betalen voor de kamer, maandenlang is bekend dat we komen, dat is de job als je in het hotelwezen werkt. Manager pakte het totaal verkeerd aan, ging met ons discussieren, onnnodig! hotel was verder prima, keuken ook. De receptioniste Nicole en de waitress uit Lockerbie waren erg proffesioneel...

'Stayed for the night. Great room and comfortable bed. Food was good and the full Scottish Breakfast will keep you going to the day. '

'Check in was quick. Room was dated but clean and tidy. Gym was adequate. However, I barely slept. The room was ridiculously warm, even with the windows open. The walls were paper thin so I could hear everything in the neighbouring rooms. The hotel is on a main road so the traffic noise was loud with the window open. '

'Gorgeous room and premises ... immaculately clean... hosts were just lovely... would highly recommend... all little things thought of and my dairy alkergy accommodated even had a small flask of oat milk for the room ... amazing breakfast not just taste but presentation also... it would be hard to beat... Fab location in proximity to the Shopping outley which us walkable and also The Blacksmiths at Gretna Green for weddings ... Thanks for a great stay xx'

'We only stayed for one night so didn’t bother to ask for an upgrade, but I think you should. We stayed in a not yet renovated room and it was definitely not worth the money. It felt more like a run down youth hostel than a 3 star hotel. Bar and restaurant area are updated and that looks promising for the rest of hotel. Would only return if I knew rooms are renovated.'
