Connections to Wellington are great, 10 mins by car, hotel is only 600 meters away from railway station Petone which also takes you in 15 mins to Wellington ($10 per person back and forth). 'I really enjoyed my stay. The Bucket Tree is very iconic, with colonial style architecture, lovely park-like surroundings and that giant bucket-shaped tree in front. I arrived in the middle of a heavy rainstorm, so really appreciated the warm and cosy room. I had a separate bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Beautiful kitchenette and bathroom. Everything was lovely and clean and the service was great. I stayed for two nights and my room was cleaned each day. Would definitely stay here again....

My 8yr old daughter loves that they have sky tv and the gummy lollies in our room on arrival. Staff are very helpful. Enjoyed our stay with Totara Lodge and will definitely be back. Thank you :-)'

'Great facilities they think of everything. Plus plenty of nice towels offered and the best shower set up - and best one think I’ve ever had. Great pressure, amazing. The staff who are so attentive. Great to have guest laundry too. Would be nice to have a little hand held vacuum for the carpet crumbs/hair etc and a coat rack near door. I loved this place and views across the harbour wonderful. From comfy lazy-boy recliners.'
