« I admittedly arrived at a busy time and The Bear was reportedly chronically short of staff. Whilst the room and its cleanliness was excellent, the human side was somewhat chaotic. I queued twice for approx. 15 mins in total only to be told, in regard to ordering food, that the chef was very busy and not feeling well. I could not order any food and whilst sickness is unavoidable no decision was made to stop food orders for the evening. That lack of a decision was the problem and frustrating. I...

« The host cancelled my booking the day before I was due to book in because I use a walking stick and the room was on the middle floor. When I made the booking there was no mention on the booking page about about difficulties I may have. The reason given was not enough room on the expedia page. I was also refused a refund, which I find very disappointing as it was the host who cancelled my booking, not myself. Very disappointed allround. »

« I was given a double room instead of a suite, they couldn’t give me the correct room due to it being full and couldn’t refund me due to not having access to the correct system. The coffee machine didn’t work and they only gave a small amount of milk which only lasted one day. »

« Very nice flat plenty of space and nice and clean.A few items could be improved, no soap in the property, instructions for the washing machine would be helpful .Guests staying a week or more it would be nice to have a welcome pack or at least some tea and milk etc . Biggest problem no Wi Fi , property uses a neighbours internet to run the smart Tv which only had one bar or didn’t work at all for the 1st 3 days but tv guys sorted it to freeview.As the phone signal is not good in the area I really...

« This was a great hotel for an overnight stay as we travelled north. Location is a bit remote but food was excellent, staff helpful and the establishment is dog friendly. Absolutely no complaints. »

« We were allocated a large room on the 3rd floor. There is no lift. We requested a lower floor the room was mor like a bedsit .clean and quiet. .The front of the building is covered in scaffding. If we were in the rooms with hottubs etc different experience.Staff minimal buit helpful.restuarant has always been good. »

« Clean room, comfy bed and a good shower. Hallways could have done with a quick vac. Missed second day breakfast but still enough left. »

« Very pleasant hotel with nice staff and all facilities you could expect. The room was perfect, except impossibility to open window for a little fresh air inside the room (air conditioning available though). Parking is big enough to park your car safely next to the hotel. City center and docks are easy to reach by walk (we recommend the docks museum, very interesting and free admission). Huge Tesco and other food corners around the hotel. »

« I stayed for Dave Day, June 26. The hotel could not have been more busy! But the staff had permanent smiles with a very helpful attitude. Inspite of probably being asked the same questions 100 times. Wish there was an extra star for them. A credit to the management. »

« The location and apartment were great! Unfortunately the beds were the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in - so lumpy and uneven we couldn't sleep for the 2 nights we were there. The sofa bed mattress was so thin you could feel the metal frame all night. The mattresses all need replacing! »
