Stunning views!! This is a sunny,comfortable lockwood home,fully furnished complete with all modern essentials and secure off street boat parking. Located on Mt Paku this easy access property offers fantastic sea views stretching from the Coromandel ranges, over Pauanui beach,and out to sea towards Shoe and Slipper Islands and beyond.
Only minutes drive or walk to safe surf and swimming beaches, local shops (including a supermarket, chemist, hardware store etc),service station,cafes,restaurants,play ground, golf course,boat ramp and many wonderful bush walks.Tairua offers something for everyone.
Tairua is a 2 hour drive from Auckland city and is centrally located within a 30 minuite drive to Whangamata, Thames or Whitianga,or a 20 minute drive to Cooks beach, Hahei, Hot Water beach, and Cathedral Cove.
A regular ferry service also runs accross the harbour to Pauanui.

Special conditions:
We supply all linen except beach towels (sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathmat and tea towels). Bath towels must not be taken to the beach please.
We do not allow camping or extra people staying on our property without prior approval.

Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$80.00 per stay); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Leave the house tidy, put dishes in the dishwasher and take your rubbish please.

It was a beautiful stay with the most amazing views and changeable everyday. I would have given a 5 star rating but on arrival, after 3pm, walked into the accommodation where the cleaners had forgotten to clean after the last visitors, so was abit annoyed having travelled a fair way with my elderly mum. Having said that, got on the phone to Michelle, the owner, who promptly contacted the cleaners and they were there pretty much straightaway. Also, Michelle had kindly refunded part of the stay due to the inconvenience. Overall, fabulous stay. Well stocked with kitchenware, pantry items, reading books, games etc. Lovely to sit out on the decking early morning and evening. I would definitely love to come back again 😊

midwinter at Paku Paradise

I've stayed here multiple times and the location still leaves a warm and positive impression. Easy access with whatever you need to keep you comfortable, off street parking is always a bonus for unpacking/ repacking. Even in winter you can be warm and cosy as you watch the sea and birds wheeling past. Time it right and you will get to enjoy the sunshine on the ample deck with your glass of wine.
Enjoy the view with your glass of wine.

Paku Paradise Plus

I'm a regular visitor here. After two years away it is great to return to a relaxing spot with great views. some upgrades make this getaway even more comfortable. Check out the local cafes at the bottom of Mt.Paku when your here - Tairua club and Old Mill are favourites.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s a cute home on the hill with magical views! It was as described in the listing. Well stocked kitchen and my daughter and husband loved using the binoculars. But the house does creak a lot! And remember to bring your own beach towels.

We really enjoyed our 4 day stay. The views from the house and deck are stunning during the day and by night the stars are amazing! We enjoyed our climb up Paku hill and walk to the beach, as well as trips to Whangamata, Cathedral Cove and Whitianga. The creaks and bangs can be noisy - as mentioned by others - but it wouldn’t deter us from staying again.

Great views. It is a lockwood house so people need to know it is going to make some interesting noises and you are not getting burgled:-). Great place to take a break, handy to Ocean Beach, Whitianga, great places to eat locally as well.

Paku Hilltop. Views forever.

Great property, second time we have stayed and thoroughly enjoyed the location, views, privacy and peace and quiet. Only small negative is the master bedroom really needs new blinds or curtains as the current ones do not provide any privacy. Apart from this and a few scary creaks and bangs being a wooden house, would highly recommend the property for a relaxing break or longer term stay.
