Kookaburra Retreat - Berowra Heights

Kookaburra Retreat is a completely private, self contained retreat adjoining our house and located on the very edge of Aussie bushland with abundant wildlife. Kookaburras will laugh with you and possums and wallabies may visit you at night. The resident brush turkeys often parade through for a visit and Panna our cat, is always up to greeting guests, looking for a pat and a cuddle.

If you are visiting family or friends, attending a local wedding, attending a course or just planning a family getaway, come and experience what Kookaburra Retreat has to offer.

Enjoy exploring the surrounding bushland and the many bushwalking tracks which are accessible from the backyard and within the area. The Great North Walk is very close by. Stop in overnight or stay longer and enjoy the many shorter walks on offer. Do as much or as little as you want. There is so much to discover and the stars shine so much brighter away from the city lights.

Berowra Waters and Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River are only a short drive away.
The local shopping centre and restaurants are nearby for all your other requirements.

Bus services are available from the end of the street which can take you to Berowra Railway Station or within the local area. Courtesy buses are available to the local pub and RSL Club.

Berowra Railway Station (North Shore, Northern & Western Line). Trains to the city take approximately 1 hour.

The Space:

You will have your own private "West Wing" with plenty of room. A fully equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge area, powder room with WC and verandah are downstairs with direct access to the backyard and bushland. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and balcony, all overlooking the bush are located upstairs.
All linen and towels are supplied along with soap and shampoo etc.

Kitchen: Fridge, cooktop, microwave, toaster, kettle, air fryer, electric wok, cookware, dinnerware, cutlery, glassware, Breakfast cereal and milk, tea and coffee.
Dining area: Table with 6 chairs
Lounge area: Comfortable lounge, coffee table, sideboard, A/C, entertainment unit with TV, Foxtel - Entertainment & Sports, DVD/Blue Ray, DVD Movies, Stereo, Free WiFi, books, games, puzzles and a variety of kids toys.
Verandah: Small table and chairs for that early morning cuppa or breakfast, Weber Family Q - Gas BBQ.
Bedroom 1: King bed, bedside tables, A/C, TV and a walk in robe.
Bedroom 2: Queen bed, bedside tables and tallboy.
Upstairs balcony: Table and chairs for relaxing and enjoying the view.
Other: Washing Machine, A/C, Drying Rack, Vacuum, Outdoor Table & Chairs, Extra Pillows and Blankets, Portacot, Baby bath, Baby booster seat.

Additional Guest Information:
All facilities within the retreat and backyard are available for use. In the colder months, a fire pit is available (fire restrictions dependent).

Checkout: 11 am

We will meet and greet guests when possible, otherwise keys will be available in the key box to enter and get settled. We are happy to assist with any requirements.

A folder is available within the retreat to assist with the many places to visit and things to do or visit our website to view more.

Off street parking is available for 1 car.

Smoking is permitted (outside only).

Please treat with respect, as though it is your own home.

Respectable noise levels are requested.
