Check in was a NIGHTMARE!! We drove over two hours, only to get there and be told that we had not been called in as guests. I was told to contact the property manager, Michael. I called him several times, finally reached him and he said he would call us in as guests. After waiting around, we were told that Michael did call but got mad and hung up. Then I was told that there was a “rift between the property manager and the home owner”. I was told that my only option was to again call Michael bc “he has certain things he is required to do and he has not done them”. After calling him again, he told me that I had two options, take a refund or let him try to find us a different property. I had my elderly mother with me and she was tired from the long drive. Also had two small children. I insisted on keeping my reservation. Finally, he agreed to reach out to the home owner. After waiting in the lobby for an hour, we were finally given our passes. Once we got to the house, I had to again message Michael to request the code for the door. Then asked him for the WiFi password. Didn’t get a response until 2 days later. The rest of the trip was fine but check in was so unprofessional. I had my sister with me who has never been to Ocean Lakes. She was very unimpressed. With a new property manager, the place would be fine. Otherwise, don’t rent this one!!

Lack of Communication with Host

No info sent 3 days prior to check in and did not respond to messages.Upon arrival was not on list as guest. My Daughter had to call numerous times until he responded with message and it took 30 min to check in. There was no parking passes at desk as he told us so that was extra charges. There was no dishwasher or ice maker and we never received WiFi password. I recommend bringing your own bowls if you plan on cooking along with toilet paper( only 2 rolls)and dishwashing liquid. The house was fine but looked bigger on pics. The whole check-in process was very stressful.
