The start was not good, however, as upon entering the room, I found that it had not been serviced. I cannot remember if I received an apology - suggesting that maybe I didn't - but the hotel deducted the price of two bottles of wine from a dinner for 8 as a paliative. 'As always, hospitality is defined by the people who provide it. The hotel staff was magnificent in this regard. From the breakfast servers to the front desk, everyone was kind, helpful and wore a smile. A special mention for the cleaning staff who did an excellent job every morning. Breakfast was delicious with options such as eggs Florentine and eggs Benedict, although as a continental European i would have liked to have seen some cheeses at the buffet. 'Our stay was a journey down memory lane for me. The hotel was still lovely and popular, the room was clean and albeit small as a twin, it was in keeping with such a historic building and the lady on the bar, who checked us in couldn’t be more welcoming. The kitchen even catered amazingly for a veggie and a vegan option breakfast. The hotel is centrally located for the beautiful village of Eyam’s history trail, tea rooms and local walks with good parking facilities. '

'Lovely quirky hotel. Free parking and in easy reach of public transport with only a short tram journey to the centre of Sheffield. Rooms clean and welcoming. Beds comfy and a modern clean and large on suite. Breakfast was perfect with help yourself cereal toast and a full menu of various cooked options to choose from cooked fresh with table service. Only downside breakfast room was far too hot. Would definitely return.'
