VERY PRIVATE SECLUDED SWIMMING POOL, SKINNY DIPPING OK, PRIVATE BEACH ALLOWS FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING VERSUS CROWDED HOTELS. Located in the exclusive PRIVATE BEACH AREA, Carlouel section of North Clearwater Beach Island, Caladesi House, with private swimming pool, approximately 1700 square feet, 100 yards from one of the finest white powder sugar beaches in the USA.

From the house one can walk north along the beach to Caladesi Island State Park. The only other way to reach Caladesi Island is with a ferry from Dunedin, but due to our location, it is a scenic walk, very private walk with very few tourists. Upon reaching Caladesi Island which is joined to Clearwater Beach, one feels like approaching paradise. Most maps show the two islands as separated, but they have since joined together.
By the way, the house is very near the location of the Warner Brothers movie, Winter, the Dolphin Tale, starring Morgan Freeman.  The dolphin can be seen at the Clearwater Marine Acquarium, 5 minutes from the house.  You may find something cheaper on the mainland,in a condo or on a canal, but here you are; on the beach, no fighting traffic jams, searching and paying for parking plus if it rains, in two minutes you are back at the house.
Where you will be staying is in the private beach north end of the island, a section called Carlouel. This is where the prominence of Clearwater live to include Mary Proctor of Procter & Gamble, the Alcoa family, TV anchorwoman Greta Van Susteren, Checkers Hamburger chain family and the Bacardi Rum family. Take a walk around the neighborhood to view the mansions and don't miss the Carlouel Yacht Club, a vision of elegance and architectural style reminiscence of scenes from the 1940s.

Great location away from the crowds
We had a really nice time at the Caladesi house despite the whole family coming down with a cold. The house is close enough to restaurants and Clearwater Beach, but far enough away that you avoid the noise and chaos that comes with beach crowds. The house is nice and the pool is great! The beach is a short walk, so if you have young kids I would recommend bringing a wagon or something to carry all the beach gear with. The only negative was the fan in the master bedroom needs to be fixed or replaced, as it was so loud that we couldn't run it at night so that room was hot. Otherwise, they have an old school coffee maker (recommend getting a Keureg) so make sure you buy ground coffee on your way to the house. There is a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts about 1 mile from the house and there is a Publix less than 2 miles away for groceries. I would definitely recommend this place and the host was very communicative and helpful.

Great place to Stay
Nice and clean, terrific Private Screened Pool area with lots of room to entertain. Short walk to a Private Beach, where there were very few people, just the opposite of going to Clearwater Beach, where we went Saturday and it was JAMMED with people.

The perfect holiday location
This property was absolutely perfect for our family holiday! ( 2 adults, 2 kids aged 8 and 11 from the UK) It was even better than we expected, everything was as described and the house was large and so was the pool. My children were in and out of the pool the whole time, it made for such a good stay with the addition of the gorgeous beach within a few minutes walk. The owner has thought about everything and all amenities for beach visits were considered and provided. The BBQ area was a real benefit. Clearwater was completely beautiful and we would definitely return and hope to stay at this same property. We went on a dolphin viewing trip, saw a baseball game, found a great shopping mall in Tampa and there was a festival on the pier in Clearwater with arts and crafts displayed. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly and safe. The host of the property has been excellent with all communications prior to and during our stay. Always gets back to me very quickly and helpful with the information. We would like to say a big thank you to you. My family would highly recommend staying at this property in Clearwater , 5 stars!

We loved our stay! Great location, beach was easily accessible, pool was a bonus! Walter has a fully equipped house, we didn’t use a lot of the stuff we brought from home which was so nice. The house had lots of great books to pick from as well. Highly recommend!

Sister's reunion
The property was super clean. Short walk to beach, and we took full advantage and walked it everyday. The beach is very clean. The Jolly Trolley came in very handy and we used it every day to central Clearwater Beach and down to John's Pass. The owners are very helpful and respond immediately to correct any problem. Also nice and quiet as we ladies are in our 70's and not quite party animals. All in all a great VRBO.

Lovely stay in beach house
The house is uniquely decorated with a variety of antique prints, pictures, books and wooden furniture as well as comfortable couches, tables beds and dressers etc appropriate to the beach area setting. The pool is delightful, ample in size, pretty to look at and warm every day. The patio and lanai offer sun and a tropical view.

Relaxing
My family and I had a wonderful stay to celebrate our daughters first birthday. The property is exactly as described - very clean, private pool very nice, and very close to the beach. A previous review stated there was stinky seaweed on the beach but that must has been after a big storm. While it was not as manicured as the public beach near Pier 60, it was clean and comfortable. We preferred the privacy to the business of the public beach. We loved that the house provided beach chairs that we could bring with us to watch the sunset!

Great house! Very clean!
The house was amazing. VERY VERY clean and nice layout. The pool was perfect - it’s very large, clean and always a refreshing temperature. The house was stocked full of beach and pool toys which was very helpful with two young kids. We loved the big flamingo floaty! My only surprise was how full of debris the private beach was - stinky sea weed and broken shells, made for uncomfortable walks on the beach so we didn’t spend as much time there as I was hoping for. The city beach we went to was all cleaned up from the hurricane that occurred a few weeks prior to our visit, but the private beach hadn’t been cleaned yet, which was surprising to me. Certainly not the fault of this homeowner, but something I will keep in mind in the future because the close access to the private beach was a big perk of this location. Overall, the house itself is great and the owner was always kind and responsive when I emailed with questions prior to our visit.
