Southwind - Screened Heated Pool! Near Amphitheatre, Historic Downtown, & Beach

Our Southwind Beach Retreat is a gorgeous island pool home. The kitchen was recently remodeled this spring. Majestic palms, hibiscus & Mexican azaleas greet you at our island pool home in desirable location. Our home is close to the beach, just a 90 second drive! Just a seven minute drive to downtown where you can visit historic St. Augustine, it's culinary pleasures and it's vibrant and festive lifestyle!

Cool off in the sparkling waters of the screened in pool and then dine poolside at our outdoor dining area. We have a park-style grill outside next to the pool for your grilling pleasure!

Our guests love this sunny family beach house! With five bedrooms and an open floor plan in the living room, there is plenty of space for everyone to stretch out and relax. There are 3 smart TVs at the property that you can use with your favorite streaming services: one in the living room, one in the master bedroom, and another in a king bedroom.

The pool heater thermostat is set to a temperature between 78 and 85 degrees F, depending on the time of the year. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 60 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated. Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled.

The history of St. Augustine is incomparable with almost any other on our coast. Founded in 1565 it is chock full of amazing places to visit, from the oldest house to the first schoolroom, to the impenetrable fort built by the Spanish. Lincolnville, just south of downtown St. Augustine takes you on a walking tour of the history of the civil rights movement noting where Martin Luther King stayed on numerous occasions. Needless to say, there’s also so many unique shops, and the restaurants are so varied and truly have an international flavor! There are things to do no matter the weather! You can take a free boat ride to Fort Matanzas and learn the history about the battles fought. Further south is Marineland where you can swim with dolphins!

The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are always concerts at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and events at Francis Field as well. You will never run out of things to do here in St. Augustine. It is probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Florida, and for sure one of the most photographed! Come and see for yourself!

Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house.

Per St Johns County regulations, only ten people are allowed per rental, not counting children 12-years-old or younger. That means this property is allowed up to 10 adults and the rest of the guests must be 12 and under.

If you have a large family and need a second location please inquire with the host about our other property that is nearby.

The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup.

We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Please purchase trip insurance for your stay if this is a concern.
