A fenced backyard built around a private pool, a hammock, and covered lounge areas anchors Purple Pelican, a multi-level beach house on the quieter island side of Butler Beach in St. Augustine. Ocean views carry from the balcony and upper levels, and the sand is a short walk away by the public A1A walkovers.
Inside, the home spreads across 2,500 square feet with room for a group of up to 10. Four bedrooms hold a king, a queen, a double, and a bunk bed, with an air mattress in the living room for anyone extra. Three full bathrooms and a half bath keep a full house moving in the morning. The primary suite is the standout, with a Jacuzzi tub plus a spa shower offering waterfall, rain, and body-jet settings, a Bluetooth speaker, and adjustable mood lighting.
The main living area is open and easy, with comfortable seating, a decorative fireplace, and a television for movie nights or slow coffee mornings. The kitchen is set up for real cooking, with a full range of appliances, a microwave, coffee maker, and dishwasher, plus cookware, dishes, and utensils, and there is a dining area and a separate dining room for feeding everyone at once. Linens, towels, WiFi, air conditioning, central heat, and an in-home washer and dryer cover the essentials. Beach chairs, towels, toys, and bikes come with the house.
Outside the gate, Butler Beach keeps a residential, low-key pace, with wide sand and far less crowding than the main beach hubs. St. Augustine Beach is a short drive north for casual restaurants, coffee, and the county fishing pier, and historic downtown St. Augustine is about 20 minutes away for the Castillo de San Marcos, St. George Street, and bayfront dining.
The pool can be heated for an additional fee with advance notice, outside the warmest summer months, and the home welcomes pets for an additional pet fee.
