« Mold in the bathroom, shower was not cleaned prior to when we got to the hotel. There is mold on the ceiling near the head of the bed. The carpet is rolled up and separating from the floor and wall the left side night stand is holing it down. Lack of plug in for chargers as well, one roll of toilet paper was available and there were no tissues in the room. »

« I love staying at the Iowa House when I visit my son at Iowa State. It is very close to campus, definitely within walking distance. The rooms are always clean and cool. The dining room always has something to eat at all hours. Breakfast in the mornings are always good. I even got a text asking if I would be eating breakfast. The staff are great and very accommodating. When I go to Ames, this is the first place I look to stay. »

« Room was clean. Beds very comfortable. Swimming pool area was a little scary. The bar to hold onto to get into the pool actually came off in the hand of my guest when they were going in the pool. When we told the clerk she said she was aware and would remind maintenance. No sign, no warning. The staff were extremely friendly except we had a problem checking out. « Don’t bother. We had to stay here for a baseball tournament and I honestly cannot believe they would offer this as a hotel option. It looks nice from the photos online but the place is a dump. They have updated certain things, like the front desk, to make it look fresh and new but as soon as you walk down the hallway you can tell they really haven’t done anything. The carpet has to have been there since the 80’s. The second floor has no air conditioning in the hallways so it is extremely hot in...

« The hotel was nice with a large refrigerator, dishwasher and sink. Nice space for guests to sit on couch. Only downfall was that we didn’t get maid service on our 2 night stay. We didnt have a tag up saying no room service annd when we came back later in the day, no one had cleaned the room. We did ask for when we got back but it but it was later in the day and they were already gone. »

« The room was clean, but dated. Pool and hot tub were nice, my kids enjoyed the pool. Breakfast wasn’t very good, we had eggs which were tasteless and biscuits and gravy also not very good. The stay was quiet and we slept pretty good. »
