'If you can stay somewhere else, DO! The staff was terrible. We waited test goes to get into our room because it hadn’t been cleaned and it took that long to figure out. The pool was freezing and there were no towels. When we asked for towels, the receptionist, who was laying head down at her desk in the break room, said, I would help you if I can, but I can’t, and laid her head back down. When we asked for a refund, we were told absolutely not and we could pay an early departure fee if we left....

'Since it’s the only hotel in Glenwood Iowa, it’s pretty nice. They take very good care of it. It’s very clean. The rooms are pretty spacious and it was near a lot of restaurants. I would stay here again if I’m in town for a wedding.'

'Upon arriving around 4:45pm, they were still actively cleaning the rooms we were assigned(requested adjourning rooms). We waited roughly 30 minutes before we could get into our rooms. Once in the rooms, the floors weren’t swept the best and sheets smelled cleaned, but had some stains and there was a dark, coarse hair on one bed. I called and talked to the front desk and they sent the cleaning ladies up and they promptly got new sheets for the beds. The pool was okay. Breakfast the next morning...

'For the price it was not too bad. The bed was too hard for myself and husband. Bring your own pillow the ones they had were so thin. The air conditioner was loud all night rattled so much. Breakfast was good. The entrance was nice and night staff was nice.'

'Reviews must be fluffed up to have an 8 plus rating. Although hotel is being renovated which seems to be an improvement there is a pest control issue. There was a couple of dead bugs at the door then another one in the bathroom the next day, Room wasn’t refreshed or cleaned the next day but there was a tip envelope readily available. Other frustrations included no trash receptacle in the bathroom, plugs on furniture sparked or didn’t work, bed squeaks and no iron or ironing board in the rooms.'
