'Sir John himself was waiting for us at the apartment complex as we arrived and even helped us carrying our small suitcase up the two flights of stairs. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, had good WiFi, a nice shower and was well equipped. We were not too enamored by the city of Rijeka, but if you choose to stay there, Sir John's Rooms is a safe bet!'

There was a washing machine but no washing pods left, even though when speaking to a lady in another apartment in the block (rented by Number 1) she’d been left pods. We’d been travelling for a month so needed a washing machine, which is why we’d booked this specific accommodation. 'Lovely renovated apartment in old building with the fresh market right outside your door every day. Up one floor, so not good for mobility impaired. But modern appliances, spotless, everything electric, and laundry. No dryer. I used the heated towel rack to dry my clothes and it worked nicely after rolling out excess water in a towel. Just around the corner from the historic Theatre and blocks away from the marina. Close to restaurants, shopping, and of course, ice cream. Definitely walkable. '

'New, clean property and rooms were clean. The rooms are incredibly small like NYC small. What makes up for the small room was the staff. Mary was exceptional, friendly, helpful and delightful! Erin was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious!!!'

'The property smelled like smoke on arrival. The bathroom sink leaked, and the owner was informed that it was not repaired during the stay. Perhaps the fix was more complicated. The location was good and the building was quiet. The internet was weak but workable. '

'Great intention, disastrous execution. The apartment smells like rotten potatoes, and the smell is clearly coming from the washing machine, which is old and needs urgent replacement. Using it will make your clothes and the apartment smell like hell. The overall hygiene of the apartment leaves to be desired, specially in the bathroom, kitchen and sofa. No amenities whatsoever (soap, detergent, or kitchen basics). It's a pity because other than that the apartment is spacious and well located....
