We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful scenery and very comfortable. Henry, the property owner was super friendly from the start! He was easy to talk to and very kind to me. Always ready to answer any questions and very helpful. We would love to come back. Thank you so much Henry!
Great stay - ran into a couple issues but property manager was quick to call us and resolve it. One note - the 3 cottages are quite close to each other. Our neighbors were friendly so it wasnt an issue, but just something to keep in mind
This was the most oeaceful place we ever stayed. The view alone was perfect. Kids enjoyed the kayaks and canoes. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful view to enjoy all day.
Our stay at the Loon cottage was just simply fantastic!
The cottage is located on a beautiful serene lake and has so many windows - you just canât stop admiring its beauty. We went kayaking and canoeing - the equipment is perfect - lots of safety vests and paddles in the little shed.
The cottage was super clean and so cozy - the fireplace heats up the place so nicely. The kitchen is well equipped. Nice modern bathroom with a wonderful shower. Although the bedrooms are snug (no dressers) we brought door hooks and hangers to hang our clothes and towels⊠and that worked out just great!
We had great weather for the whole week - so we were able to sit on the beautiful balcony and enjoy the sun and views. We even had a BBQ one night - the BBQ might need an upgrade - as the burners are not as efficient as they could be.
The host checked in on us (via email) which was appreciated - Henry is very efficient in answering any queries and he does it promptly!!!
We are left with wonderful memories and gratitude that we were able to spend a week at the Loon cottage đ.
This is a cabin, not a cottage. Extremely dirty. Tiny. Sheets stained. Ceiling cracked Electrical outlets exposed. Beds fill entire room. Broken blinds. Filthy air vents. Floors separated and falling apart. Water weedy. Only stayed one night and then called property manager to tell them we are leaving and property unacceptable to rent. Very disappointed that we did not have a vacation.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The location is very nice - the Tea Lake looks small on the map, but it was actually a decent size. The cottage is literally next to the small waterway linking Tea Lake to the neighboring lakes.
There was a nice selection of canoes and kayaks, as well as pedal boats. Surprisingly both canoes were able to fit all 3 of us. They were a bit on the small side and a bit wobbly, but still manageable. It was also the first time we tried kayaking - it wasnât nearly as scary as we thought it would be. I think most of the kayaks were of the beginner kind, since they seemed very stable and sturdy. We brought our own life jackets, but the place had plenty of these - they looked relatively new and there was a good selection for different age groups and sizes. Boats and equipment were shared among the 3 Tea Lake cottages owned by the same person, but we didnât have any problems - things were available when we needed them.
The cottage itself is very small, but has pretty much everything that you may need. The TV is big and comes with a Netflix account, although we just used the Apple TV we brought with us. The second bedroom is very tight - there is just enough space for the bed, and thatâs it. Neither of the bedrooms had a dresser, just some hooks on the wall. The fact that the couch could be transformed into a bed (itâs a futon) was a nice bonus.
The washroom is very small, which was evident from the photos, but pretty clean and somewhat renovated. It could do with some hooks on the walls for hanging towels and clothes.
The biggest problem we had was the shower. The size is very small - barely enough for one person to stand there, almost touching the walls. But what made it almost unusable was the lack of proper drainage - there were four tiny slits in the middle and they were not nearly enough to drain the water when taking a shower. As a result, the water started accumulating immediately, making you stand in the dirty water as well as having to get out of the shower ASAP or switch off the water while you shampooed your hair. We notified the owner about this, and he said he will get it checked out, but it seems a design flaw, maybe an intentional one?
There were two AC wall units, one very old and noisy. But the other one was able to cool the whole place.
BBQ was pretty basic, needing a lighter, but functional.
Neighbours, who arrived on a Friday, were very noisy and hogged the shared dock most of the day.
We had a very relaxing stay at this vrbo.
The only thing that didn't work was the wifi. It went out after the big Rogers outage and the owner was trying to work on it while we were there. Finally, another company came out and installed a new connection and we had internet for 1 day of the 5 we were there. Not the owner's fault.
Everything was great... fire pit, water activities, etc. Scenery is gorgeous.
Deer and black flies are nasty in the evenings... bring bug spray!
Short drive to amenities and parks. Was easy to find and comfortable to stay.. grounds need a bit of grooming but otherwise pleasant. Cabin itself was comfortable and was all we needed.
We stayed at the 2 bedroom cottage. It was me and a girlfriend. This cottage has beautiful windows all around and very comfortable beds. We just went antique browsing all day and came back to our cozy cottage and used the great dock to read and hear a loon. The porch off the kitchen is a great spot too. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful little cottage right on the lake, perfect for our mini getaway. We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed to cook. The owners called to help us settle in and were very accommodating when our plans had to change last minute. We would absolutely stay here again. :)
